“Keep Rising To The Top”

“Give it all you got. Give it all you got. Give it all you got. Ain’t no half stepping.” If you thought that climbing to the top was going to be easy, well, you probably were smart enough to figure out by now that this isn’t the case. Following your dreams and achieving your goals will never be easy. But before you seriously consider making your very own sex tape, and hope and wish that it’ll propel you to stardom, let me first give you a few tips to help you keep rising to the top.

Stay Motivated. I know, easier said than done, right? But if you can keep a positive outlook on life and stay driven, then I promise those attributes will take you a long way.

Create short and long term goals. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. I know you’ve heard that before. But it’s true. You have to have goals in place to keep you on the path of success. Write down your short and long term goals in a notebook; and as you accomplish each goal written in your notebook, cross it out. It’s an elated feeling you have when you have something concrete confirming that you’re doing the things you have set out to do.

Find a mentor. Let’s be honest. Sometimes people are unwilling to share valuable and pertinent information with others. They figure that they got theirs, now you have to go get yours. But at the same time, there are people out there willing to share their knowledge and are willing to be the bridge to help you cross over to success. You just have to align yourself with the right people.

Give it all you got! Success for most of us won’t come over night. And I know you see all these reality stars becoming famous for practically nothing and it might make you a little disgruntle. But you know, I have had to work hard for everything that I have. And I know success won’t come over night. I’ve been on my grind since I was a shawty! Lol! But seriously, I’ve already been to the bottom. I know that there’s only one place left for me to go, and that’s the top! You have to be driven. You have to be willing to step out of your comfortable zone or be willing to take a leap of faith. You have to be willing to give it all you got!

“Keep rising to the top. “Give it all you got. Give it all you got. Give it all you got. Ain’t no half stepping.”

If ever there was a time that this was true is now…with the economy…all the jobs outsourced…banks not freely lending…you need a mentor…college students and recent college grads really need a mentor…that’s why it pays to be nice because the very person you think is a nobody or can’t help you might be your mentor…read about people other than celebrities, those in your community, social organizations, Urban League, Chamber of Commerce, etc…professional written about in the free newspapers, being honored…pick up the phone and call them…so many people want to share and give back…because…

“No one in this world does anything all by themselves!”

  5. Thanks for this insightful piece. I am a 23yo working professional, who is very ambitious and career driven. I started ny new “dream job” just a month ago, and am really struggling. It is very demanding, my boss is a nightmare, and it’s really taking a toll on my social life. I heard NY is cut throat, but I never imagined it would be like this! I agree that ‘hard work pays off’, and that’s why I’m willing to endure all of this bs right now…and infact use it as a learning curve prior to getting bigger and better. It’s all about your state of mind. Think positive, and you will be positive. Think negative, be negative. I’d like to share my all time favourite quote with you all: “You are today where your thoughts have brought you, you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you”-ANON. God bless. One love.
