Pre-BET Awards Pampering

Brandy, Michelle Williams, Amerie, Estelle and Marsha Ambrosius were all spotted getting the girly treatment at AJ Crimson’s Pre BET Awards Beauty Suite. Crimson is a celebrity make-up artists known for his work with actresses Lauren London, Vivica A. Fox and Meagan Good. He is also the co-creator of the Kissable Couture line of lipsticks.

Kelly Rowland Hosts Grey Goose Event

Fresh off of her win for ‘Top R&B Song’ at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, singer Kelly Rowland was spotted playing hostess at Grey Goose’s launch party for their new drink, Cherry Noir.

Kelly was joined by Vashtie, Angie Martinez and fellow Brown Sista beauties Estelle and Jessica White.

Kelly tweeted news about her new album after her victory, thanking fans for their support, and reminding them to look out for her new album, which she hopes to have released by the fall.

By the way, did anyone find it odd that Kelly didn’t get a single BET nomination for her “Motivation” single or it’s subsequent album “Here I Am?”

Though I’m not sure if the single was eligible for any awards, Kelly as an overall artist definitely should have been in the running for Best Female R&B Artist.

Of all the names on the list (Marsha Ambrosius, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Melanie Fiona and Rihanna), only one ruled the R&B charts in 2011 and that was Miss Kelly.

Ledisi Becomes a VH-1 Diva

R n’ B singers Ledisi, Anita Baker and Mavis Staples are the latest names to be added to the ever expanding list of performers for this year’s VH1 Divas Live Concert.

This year’s crop of divas will be backed up by The Roots and will pay tribute to cities that have a soulful history, IE Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Memphis and London.

Other performers include Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Travie McCoy, Estelle and Marsha Ambrosius.

Performers already listed for the event include Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Florence + the Machine, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J. and Jill Scott.

A rep for VH1 says that “. . . this year’s Divas will be a must-see event.”

The Divas red carpet will be live-streamed on Sunday, December 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. EST. Divas premiers Monday, December 19, at 9 p.m. EST.

… and in another bit of Ledisi news, the singer is taking her “Pieces of Me” tour to Europe next month and has just released the promotional video above.

Keyshia Cole Plots Summer Tour

Singer Keyshia Cole knows where the money truly is. Despite having an album that didn’t exactly set the charts on fire, the 29 year old R & B diva still stands to make a boat load of cash by going out on tour. Keyshia announced her plans earlier this week when she visited BET’s 106 & Park to debut her “Take Me Away” video. According to Keyshia, she will hit the road with Marsha Ambrosius as part of R Kelly’s “Love Letter Tour.” Initial release dates have the trio making stops in New Orleans, Oakland, Los Angeles, Houston and Kansas City. Tentative plans to take the show overseas are also in the works.

New Video: Let Me by Floacist

Floacist, formerly of the U.K. duo Floetry, has just unveiled the video for her single “Let Me.” If the bronze beauty was trying to one up her former band mate Marsha Ambrosius, she has certainly done it. Decked out in nothing but a few cleverly placed pasties, Floacist and her male companion bring the heat and then some. The single is featured on the singer’s “Floetic Soul” soul album, which is out now. As for the video treatment, Floacist says “The video for ‘Let Me’ is the first video that I have created with my continual flow of creative integrity and purpose not being interrupted along the journey from studio to visual. This art peace is the art of my heart!”

Letoya To Drop New Single Before Album Release

Letoya Luckett With the release of Letoya Luckett’s sophomore album just weeks away and no singles buzz to help promote sales, the singer’s record label is switching things up a bit. The Ne-Yo written single “Not Anymore” is now being called just an “introduction” to what Letoya has in store for her fans on her upcoming “Lady Love” CD and another single, “She Ain’t Got Sh*t On Me”, will now act as the official first single from the album. Dubbed the “Official Ladies Anthem of 2009”, the single was produced by Cory Bold and is due to impact radio in early June. Lady Love will be released on June 23rd and features writing and production credits from Missy Elliott, Tank and Floetry’s Marsha Ambrosius.
