Chanel Iman Covers Harper’s Bazaar as Prince
Model Chanel Iman is paying tribute to Prince via four different covers for Harper’s Bazaar Serbia. The magazine recreates several of the Purple One’s most iconic looks over his four decade career, including the cover of his 1984 album, Purple Rain.
Chanel Iman looked ravishing as she posed for pics inside the Victoria Secret store at the Eaton Center in Toronto. The 20 year old beauty was on hand to promote the company’s Valentine’s Day sale. Chanel signed autographs and posed for pics decked out in a red Hervé Léger dress and Pigalle Spiked Heels by Christian Louboutin. Chanel recently made a career change, leaving her longtime agency and joining IMG, which is known for their representation of Victoria Secret models.
Model Chanel Iman puts on a happy face for her photo spread in the February edition of Vogue Spain. The shoot was styled by María Aguilar and the magic man behind the lens was photographer Michael Ferrara.
The December 2009 issue of Prestige Magazine covers none other than one of the hottest teen supermodels in the industry right now, Ms. Chanel Iman. The nineteen year old fashion diva looks super glam in her hot photo shoot for the magazine. In the interview she tells Prestige about her relationship with her boyfriend Chris, amongst many other topics. “I look for someone who’s a man, who really knows how to listen and how to learn from his girl. I want someone who cares from his heart about what’s on the inside, not about what’s on the outside… I also skateboard with my boyfriend and we ride around a lot of parks here in the city.” Two thumbs up for Chanel Iman!
Rihanna continues her total media domination of Paris’ Fashion Week. The singer has kept tongues wagging all week as she has repeatedly been seen wearing one outrageous outfit after another. The fashion diva kept the trend going at yesterday’s Chanel showing, arriving with Karl Largerfeld in a short mini and dripping in pendants.
Models Chanel Iman and Naomi Campbell are both featured in the latest issue of V Magazine. The icon and icon in training both give good face for the magazine’s first ever swimsuit edition. Naomi landed the cover of one of 6 the magazine released and did so with bunny ears on. Channeling a bit of Marilyn Monroe I believe, the 90s icon is captured all decked out in full Playboy Bunny attire. And though Chanel did not land a cover for herself, the young model did get face time inside the magazine and gave insight on her future acting plans, what her tattoos mean and what model she most aspires to be like.
Glamour Magazine celebrates it’s 70th Anniversary by paying tribute to 13 women they consider icons. Among those chosen were First Lady Michelle Obama, singer Billie Holiday and 1950’s tennis star, Athena Gibson.
Helping Glamour to pay tribute to these women, singer Alicia Keys, actress Paula Patton, and model Chanel Iman, all posed as their icon and shared their thoughts on the impact these women have had on their lives.
I didn’t know this until the other day, and I don’t know if it’s a good thing, or bad, but Chanel Iman is the first black model to walk the runways of Gucci, since 2005. It may sound bad, but what’s worst is that British model, Jourdan Dunn, walked for Prada last season, and was the first brown sista in 10yrs!!
Former Gucci designer, Tom Ford, ended his reign in 2005, so maybe it’s the fault of current designer, Frida Giannini, why it has taken so long. And, why only one black model? I know it might not seem like there’s a lot of black models around, but believe me, there are. They just don’t get the same chances.
* So, my question is:
– If you were a black model, and in Chanel or Jourdan‘s shoes, would you feel honored to be employed to a company such as Gucci or Prada?
