While performing on The Wendy Williams show earlier this week, singer Faith Evans revealed she would be playing the role of Florence Ballard, one of the original members of The Supremes. Florence died at the tender age of 32 after having been kicked out of the group she founded. The role of Effie White in Dreamgirls is based loosely around Florence, who like her fictional counterpart, was also the lead singer of her group before being replaced. Shooting on the film is reportedly set to start next summer.
Faith’s “Something About Faith” album was released On Tuesday, October 5th and according to early estimates, it should move around 30,000 copies.

Just in case Faith Evans’ “Gone Already” wasn’t quite what you were expecting from the singer, check out this latest joint to be leaked from her upcoming “Something about Faith” album. “Everyday Struggle” features rapper Raekwon and finds Faith using a familiar Notorious B.I.G. sample of a Dave Grusin track, to bring fans back to the early days of her career. “Struggle” showcases Faith at her best, singing the kind of pure R n’ B you wish so called R n’ B stations still played.
Faith is set to kick off promotion of her new album with a performance on The Wendy Williams Show and look for the full album to drop online and in record stores on October 5th.
R n’ B veteran Faith Evans has finally revealed the cover art to her upcoming “Something About Faith” album. Set to be released on October 5th, the album boasts production from Faith herself, Jermaine Dupri and features collaborations with fellow R n’ B diva Keyshia Cole and U.K. import Estelle. The album’s first single “Gone Already” debuted on the charts this last week and rumor has it Faith will kick off promotion of the album with an interview and performance on The Wendy Williams Show.
Singer Faith Evans is back in the news this morning and unfortunately it has nothing to do with the October 5th release of her new album “Something About Faith.” Instead, the R n’ B veteran is making headlines for being arrested at a DUI checkpoint near Marina Del Rey in Los Angeles, California. The Grammy winning singer/songwriter was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor drunk driving and held for about four hours before being released. In the past Faith has denied having any sort of addiction problem, however, the singer was also arrested back in 2004 with her boyfriend and record exec, Todd Russaw, for possession of marijuana and cocaine. The two were taken into custody at a checkpoint in Atlanta, Georgia and as a result both spent 13 weeks in an addiction treatment program.
Faith is presently on the comeback trail, having released her last album, The First Lady, back in 2005. The singer is presently shooting a reality series and recently released “Gone Already” as the first track from her new album.
