Janelle Monae Joins Robert Zemeckis Film
Janelle Monae is headed back to the big screen. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Primetime singer is set to join actor Steve Carell in the upcoming Robert Zemeckis film Marwenkol. The movie is reportedly based on a 2010 documentary about Mark Hogancamp, a photographer who builds a miniature town in his backyard after recovering from an attack that left him in a coma.

R n’ B singer Janelle Monae has landed the third lead alongside Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer in the Fox 2000 sci-fi drama Hidden Figures. The film is based on the true life story of Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson and Dorothy Vaughan, three black female mathematicians who helped provide NASA with the raw data they needed to launch John Glenn and his fellow astronauts into space.

According to published reports, the 29-year old Yoga singer will be joining the cast of Moonlight, a Brad Pitt produced film based on Terrell McCraney’s play In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue.
Naomie Harris, Andre Holland and Marshala Ali have also been cast in the coming of age drama, which will be helmed by director Barry Jenkins and distributed by Fox Searchlight.
