June Ambrose Upgrades Da Brat

Celebrity stylist June Ambrose has laid her healing hands on Shawntae Harris, better known to the world as Da Brat.

The 38-year old rapper accompanied her fashion svengali to Fashion Delivers: The Pre-Show at Sandbox Studios in New York City last night, where she showed off her new look, courtesy of Ambrose.

The two were also spotted earlier this week on the streets of New York where June was filming an episode of her upcoming reality show. June was apparently attempting to teach Da Brat, a notorious tomboy, how to walk in heels.

June Ambrose Turbans

Stylist to the stars June Ambrose has launched her very own line of head wraps and turbans. Unlike a lot of designers, June actually rocks her own look quite often and showed up for New York Fashion Week this year decked out in her own creations almost daily. June’s line will feature 11 different turban styles, each with its own unique name. Prices range anywhere from $120.00 all the way up to $150.00. For those not quite sure they are ready to rock this look, check out the May edition of Ebony magazine where June gives a very in depth tutorial on how to properly tie a turban.

“Styled by June” Screening

The Crosby Hotel in New York City was the backdrop for VH1 as they held a private screening of their new realty show “Styled by June,” starring celebrity stylist June Ambrose.

As previously reported, June’s new show will feature her behind the scenes work with celebs looking to reinvent themselves. Among those being featured during the first season are Jaleel White (Urkel from Family Matters), Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child) and rappers Da Brat and Trina.

Look for “Styled by June” to premiere Monday, March 19th at 9:30/8:30C.

Red carpet photos from the premiere can be seen below.

Kerry Washington Covers Essence

KERRY WASHINGTON COVERS ESSENCE MAGAZINE NOVEMBER 2013 (1)

With her hit show Scandal set to return to the airwaves tonight, what better time could there be for actress Kerry Washington to cover Essence magazine?

Kerry is gracing the November edition and looking super sultry in the process. I must give it to Miss Kerry, she really brought her a-game with this one.

Kerry’s cover was styled by June Ambrose, who decked her out in a gold Rafael Cennamo dress and if you look closely, you’ll see the gold-tipped nails to match.

Ambrose tweeted about the cover earlier today, saying she wanted to give Kerry a look she knew her famous character Olivia Pope would never go for.

The November issue is on newsstands now; don’t forget to pick up your copy.

Style: At the “Notorious” Premiere

main by you.

Last night was a very stylish night at the “Notorious” movie premiere in New York City. Despite most of the ladies stepping out in dark colors, the artist partly known as Beyoncé arrived wearing an off-the-shoulder Donna Karan dress with matching sequin wrap, metallic clutch, chandelier earrings, and platform YSL sandals. Though the hair is a bit messy from her St. Bart’s vacay, she still looks fab in that color. Cassie was the cutest thing on the scene, sporting a créme and black Givenchy jacket, with emroidered detailing, and cutout platform heels. Ciara looked every bit a model, as she posed sexily in her leopard-print Christian Louboutin pumps. I mean seriously, who else could make leather look this good? — not too many! Oh, and I LOVE her side-swept bangs.
