“Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star Kenya Moore is embarking on a new business venture. The former Miss USA said back in 2012 she was joining the reality show circuit to promote her line of natural hair products, and true to her word, Kenya is now ready to unveil her new project to the world.
Kenya took to Twitter earlier this week to announce her new venture, saying “#teamtwirl I’m excited about my hair care line. I’m not selling fake hair… shampoo, conditioner, etc. 2 grow #realhairlonger #twirlonthat. I actually embark on business ventures that make sense… With a business plan that will grow wealth and an empire #not$10bundle.”
Kenya went on to sing the virtues of her products, saying they are for all hair types and contain no sulphates.
Kenya is the second housewife to unveil her own line of hair products in recent months. Fellow housewife Porsha Stewart recently unveiled her “Naked” line of weave products, which she touts as “hair so real, it feels like your own.”
No doubt Kenya’s above comments were aimed at Porsha, who routinely found herself on the wrong side of Kenya’s good graces last season.
So, did Kenya release her hair care line to take a bite out of Porsha’s sales? I personally doubt it. The ladies are appealing to two completely different markets. Plus, Kenya’s line hasn’t officially hit the market yet.
KenyaMoore.com lists something “Gone with the wind fabulous is coming…,” so we assume it will be unveiled any day now- most likely when the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” returns to the air later this fall.
‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Kenya Moore got all dolled up last night in a pink teddy to perform at her very own ‘Gone with the Wind Fabulous’ Celebration at the Splash Bar in New York City.
Kenya, season five’s obvious breakout star, confirmed her return to the show for season six, saying “It was a no brainer that the producers would want to bring me back.”
Kenya’s over the top antics and battles with almost all the other housewives brought in record ratings for the franchise, making season five it’s most successful to date.
According to TV by the Numbers, the show draws 3-4 million viewers per episode and continues to obliterate its reality rival ‘Kourtney & Kim take Miami.’
Look for the season six to be even hotter with all the ladies returning, including the newly separated Porsha Stewart. No doubt her marital woes will put her front and center when the new season kicks off this fall.
Reality show diva Kenya Moore is ‘Gone with the Wind’ fabulous in her new photo shoot for Krave Magazine. The former Miss USA *get her title right* takes on a boxer’s persona, knocking out all haters, Porsha Stewart and Walter Jackson included. LOL.
Sidenote: I like Kenya. I truly do. Unfortunately, she has done irreparable harm to her brand by appearing on the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta.’
In less than a season Kenya has allowed her crown to be made a mockery of and solidified herself as a desperate mean girl so hungry for fame she faked a relationship to secure her casting.
Whether real of fake, score another win for Bravo and another loss for the image of black women on television.
Kenya said she’s not too fond of most reality shows because she thinks they make women look “immature and petty,” but added she hopes to bring something different to her time on the show.
“I feel like it’s almost like my duty to take the job because it’s the converse of what we’re seeing now,” she told Sister2Sister.
So will you guys be tuning in to see the latest non housewife join The Real Housewives of Atlanta? I know I will. I’m a huge Kenya fan.
FYI: I watched Basketball Wives the first season Tami Roman was on because I loved her on The Real World. I hope Kenya doesn’t pull a Tami and make me regret my decision to tune in to RHOA for the first time.
