Ciara Covers L’Officiel Singapore

CIARA SINGAPORE OFFICIEL

Ciara is once again gracing the pages of L’Officiel magazine. The 29 year old pop diva lands the May cover of the Singapore edition, and does so in explosive fashion, rocking an Armani snake-print dress, which she paired with nothing but attitude and a touch of 1950s big hair.

Ciara is gearing up for the release of her upcoming “Jackie” album on May 4th and the kick-off of her first solo tour in almost a decade on May 3rd.

Exclusive: Preview Beyonce’s L’Officiel Photo Shoot

Here it is, your first official look at Beyonce’s already controversial blackface photo shoot for French magazine, L’Officiel.

I’m loving it already; what do you guys think?

Ciara Previews New Music + Photo Shoot

JACKIE PROMO

With her “Jackie” album exactly one week away from being unleashed on the world, Ciara is ramping up the promo, releasing snippets of new singles, as well as additional images from some of her recent photo shoots.

Earlier today Ciara gave fans their first listen to “Give Me Love,” a Dr. Luke produced track that takes Ciara’s sound into a whole new direction. Along with “Fly,” which Ciara unveiled last week, I can see the singer clearly trying to break out of the R&B genre by embracing dance music which is far more open and popular worldwide.

Beyonce Returns to Her Roots

French magazine, L’Officiel, will celebrate its 90th birthday by having Beyonce Knowles grace their March 2011 cover. The 29 year old pop diva agreed to pose for an incredible “African Queen” themed photo shoot in which she donned costumes in tribute to African musician/activist, Fela Kuti. Beyonce voluntarily allowed her skin to be darkened, a move I’m sure won’t sit well with Americans; however, the magazine called it a return to the singer’s African roots.

In contrast to the image above, the cover featuring Beyonce seemed to have swung the other way. Beyonce is almost unrecognizable to me, as her skin color has once again been manipulated by magazine editors so as not to offend their mostly white female audience.

Update: Check out a preview of the photo shoot here.

Best Body of 2010!

Ciara, who released her 4th studio album just a few weeks ago, has had a rough year in music. Basic Instinct,” which was set to originally drop back in August, was unfortunately pushed back one too many times to keep the public’s interest, and in turn received very poor first-week sales. And, let’s not forget BET banning her music video to Ride.”

What we here at BrownSista do love however, is how [despite so many disappointments] Ciara always manages to keep a smile on her face, a highly-positive attitude, and a rockin’ hott body!

With being named the new face/muse of Givenchy earlier this year, having a stacked bank account, and residing in a trend-setting city like LA, fashion and high-end designs are right at Ciara’s fingertips. Her choice of threads? — everything from Givenchy gowns, to Versace heels, Y-3 dresses, Jeremy Scott swimwear, Balmain minis…you name it! But let’s face it, with a frame and face like C’s, she can make something as dull as a brown paper bag look good!

Yeah, some of you may laugh at those poor album sales, but Ciara’s laughing back saying, “You Wish You Looked This Good!”

It’s obvious Ciara’s very dedicated to working out and living well. In an interview with Women’s Health magazine, she revealed her secrets to getting and maintaining such a svelte physique:

“When I was younger, I would play around. I would work out and then eat a burrito afterward. Now I take it seriously–no salt, low salt. It’s strict, but when I follow those rules, I see results.”

“We do advanced ab work–probably 500 ab exercises total per session, though sometimes we’ll stop at 200.”

“Drinking tons of water is extremely important. When I’m training, I drink a gallon a day.”
