Here it is- your first look at “Video Girl,” the latest film starring and produced by Meagan Good via her own production company, Freedom Bridge Entertainment. The movie tells the story of Laurie Walker, a small town girl looking to fulfill her dreams via the world of music videos. Co-starring Meagan’s sister La’Miya Good, the film also includes actress Ruby Dee, Hillary Duff, Angie Martinez and Melyssa Ford.
According to a recent tweet by Meagan, “Video Girl” will be released to AMC Theaters beginning April 29th, with wider distribution to follow.
Actress Meagan Good came out last night to support her sister La’Miya Good in her first starring role. La’Miya, along with Traci Lords and Rashad McCants, star in “Booster Club,” a web series about a band of shoplifters.
In checking La’Miya’s IMDB page, I was shocked to discover the 31 year old beauty has almost as many acting credits as her younger sister.
Though known to most of the world as one fourth of the singing group Isyss, La’Miya has also been seen in “Judging Amy,” “Sister, Sister,” “The Parkers,” “ER” and “The Wood.” Future La’Miya projects include roles in “Crossed the Line” and “Video Girls,” a film her sister is producing.
La’Miya however does not plan to put her singing career on the back burner. She, along with her sister and good friends Sterling Victorian and Correa Bell have teamed up to start a new group, the H.E.L.L.O. Girls.
The entire group came out to support La’Miya last night and you can check out the pics below, as well as the trailer for “Booster Club.”
Meagan Good’s once hot acting career has slowed down a bit over the last year and thus the young diva is looking to expand her portfolio. Already an accomplished actress and producer, Meagan is looking to add singer to the list. According to online reports, and Meagan’s own mouth, the singer has started a group called the Hello Girls, which features her sister LaMiya Good. When asked what kind of music the public can expect from the Hello Girls, Meagan said the group would be “kinda punky” with a sound that would be a “mixture between the Beastie Boys and Vanity 6.”
No word when Meagan’s group will release an album or a single; however, a promo shot has been released that seems to show a smidgen of the punk/rock/grunge image the girls will reportedly be going for.
On a serious note however, I hope Meagan and the girls go for more than just looks and an image. If they want a serious musical career then they need to take the music seriously and do more than just take cute pics and make sexy Vanity 6 inspired videos.
