New Video: Bravo by Ledisi

R & B singer Ledisi is back with the visuals for her new single “Bravo.” The 27-year old Louisiana native is presently out on tour in support of her fifth studio album ‘Pieces of Me,” which was recently certified Gold.

The feel good video says Ledisi is meant to “uplift and inspire people to keep reaching for the stars,” she recently told the Associated Press.

Ledisi Becomes a VH-1 Diva

R n’ B singers Ledisi, Anita Baker and Mavis Staples are the latest names to be added to the ever expanding list of performers for this year’s VH1 Divas Live Concert.

This year’s crop of divas will be backed up by The Roots and will pay tribute to cities that have a soulful history, IE Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Memphis and London.

Other performers include Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Travie McCoy, Estelle and Marsha Ambrosius.

Performers already listed for the event include Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Florence + the Machine, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J. and Jill Scott.

A rep for VH1 says that “. . . this year’s Divas will be a must-see event.”

The Divas red carpet will be live-streamed on Sunday, December 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. EST. Divas premiers Monday, December 19, at 9 p.m. EST.

… and in another bit of Ledisi news, the singer is taking her “Pieces of Me” tour to Europe next month and has just released the promotional video above.

Ledisi Debuts ‘So Into You’ Video

After a brief delay, Ledisi’s video for her new single ‘So Into You,’ has finally been unveiled.

Directed by Erica D. Hayes and produced by Fig Street Films, Ledisi posted the video to her Facebook page this morning, saying “Many thanks to Lorenzo Johnson and the entire cast and crew for capturing my vision.”

That vision was originally scheduled to be unveiled last week but for reasons Ledisi says were unknown to her, ended up being pushed back by a week.

Whatever the case, it is here now and worth the wait if you ask me.

Ledisi Plans Fall Tour

Patti Labelle’s favorite singer, Ledisi, announced earlier this week her plans to hit the road in support of her latest album “Pieces of Me.”

The 20-city tour will see the Grammy nominee making stops in Chicago, Oakland, New York, Charlotte, Atlanta and Jacksonville, among others.

Ledisi says she’s prepping for her tour by getting lots of rest and taking care of her body. “I’m excited and nervous,” she says. “I hope people will come. I’ll be giving a taste of all the pieces of me.”

Look for the “Pieces of Me” tout to kick off on October 20th in Raleigh, North Carolina and wrap up on November 23rd in Baltimore, Maryland.

Four time Grammy nominee Ledisi is back with the visuals to her single “Pieces of Me.” The track is the lead single from her album of the same name, which is being released today. Ledisi held a live album listening party last week via her Facebook page and reportedly had over a 100,000 fans tune in to listen to her latest soulful creations.

Not a single diva can deny Whitney Houston and Donna Summer’s lasting impact on today’s music scene, and last night VH1, with help of some of today’s biggest voices, sought to pay tribute to both legends.

Singers Jordin Sparks, Melanie Fiona and Ledisi teamed up to perform a medley of Whitney’s greatest dance tracks, including ‘I’m Every Woman,’ ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody,’ ‘It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay,’ and ‘How Will I Know.’

Next up we have Kelly Rowland, Keri Hilson and Adam Lambert, who tributed the great Donna Summer, performing her classics ‘Bad Girls,’ ‘She Works Hard for the Money,’ ‘Hot Stuff’ and ‘Last Dance.’
