Singer Mary J. Blige continues to take her soon-to-be ex-husband to task on U + Me (Love Lesson), the latest single to be released from her upcoming 13th solo album, Strength of a Woman. The track is produced by Brandon Hodge and is officially set to be released this coming Friday, February 17th.
Taraji P Henson and Mary J Blige Come Together for Epic Lip Sync Battle
As previously reported, Empire stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard will be appearing on the season one finale of Spike TV’s break-out hit Lip Sync Battle.
This will be the pair’s second performance of the season, but this time Taraji will be getting an assist from the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, singer Mary J. Blige.
It’s been a long time coming but the second single and video from Mary J. Blige’s Growing Pains CD is finally. “Stay Down” comes almost five months after the release of Just Fine and I am sure Mary fans are happy to see that her label, Geffen Records, has not abandoned the project. Growing Pains debuted at the top of the charts and has already sold a million and half units here in the US.
Mary J. Blige and Laurieann Gibson Join Forces
Singer Mary J. Blige is set to produce 8 Count, a new Fox drama inspired by the life and career of choreographer Laurieann Gibson. According to published reports, the hour-long series will be a music-fueled look into the life a young dancer who must join forces with an up-and-coming singer in order to salvage her fledgling career.
Mary J. Blige Praised for ‘Mudbound’ Role
Singer Mary J. Blige is capping off 2017 on a very high note. In addition to Fox picking up a new dance drama she’s producing, the R&B veteran was also recently recognized for her performance in the Dee Reese film Mudbound. Mary was honored with the Breakout Performance Award at this year’s Hollywood Film Awards, for her role as a depression-era mother trying to raise her children in the deep south.

Mary J. Blige’s recent independent film with director Dee Rees is officially coming to Netflix and select theaters on November 17th. Mudbound, which tells the story of two impoverished families, one black and the other white, struggling to survive in the impoverished Mississippi Delta post World World ll, was first screened at the Sundance Film Festival and then purchased by Netflix for $12.5 million dollars.
