The singer’s next project will be produced by Missy Elliott, who along with Monica, took time off from recording to participate in the So Gone Challenge, a hashtag that took off on social media that features people rapping over the beat to Monica’s 2003 Missy-produced single So Gone.

Monica Plans to Extend “Code Red” Promo

CODE RED DOCUMENTARYWhile the roll-out for Monica’s newly released Code Red album was not always smooth, it will continue according to a post made via the singer’s Instagram page.

According to Monica, a new single, video and documentary will all be forthcoming in the new year. “Presenting your body of work to your supporters is a marathon not a sprint,” Monica wrote. “ We’re just getting started. We worked my first album for almost three years.”

Video: “Just Right for Me” by Monica

MONICA JUST RIGHT FOR ME VIDEOWith her Code Red album set to be released next month, singer Monica probably figured now was as good a time as any to release the video for her single Just Right for Me. The mid-tempo track was originally unveiled back in May, and features an appearance by rapper Lil Wayne.

Why its taken nearly six months for the video to be released is anyone’s guess. However, with the singer’s tour set to kick off on November 12th, one can’t help but appreciate the timing.

Monica Announces Upcoming Tour

code red experience tourWith a new album to support, Monica has announced the first round of dates for her upcoming Code Red Experience Tour with writer-producer Rico Love.

The 22-city trek kicks off in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 11th and wraps up on December 13th at The Gramercy Theatre in New York City.

Monica is expected to release Code Red, her eighth studio album, either this year or early 2016. The album’s first single, Just Right for Me, was released in May and features an assist from rapper Lil Wayne.

Monica’s Code Red Album Cover Unveiled

monica's code red album coverMonica’s Code Red album cover has finally been unveiled. The R&B singer used her Instagram account earlier today to show off the dramatic image, which was lensed by her longtime collaborator, Atlanta-based photographer Derek Blanks.

Code Red will be Monica’s eighth studio album, and is expected to be released later this year, though no official date has been announced. The album’s first single, the Lil Wayne assisted Just Right for Me, was released back in May and debuted at a respectable #50 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.

Monica Unveils New Lil Wayne Assisted Single


We have some good news for all you Monica Arnold fans. The Miss Thang singer is back with a new single and plans to release her eighth studio album later this year.

Monica unveiled “Just Right for Me” earlier this week and announced “Code Red,” her first album in three years, will be released sometime in the fall.

“Just Right for Me” features Lil Wayne and is produced by Monica’s longtime collaborator Polow da Don.

Keri Hilson’s New Music Has a Fan in Monica


It has been almost four years since Keri Hilson released new music via her “No Boys Allowed” album, but according to fellow R&B singer Monica, that might all be about to change.

Via her Instagram account, Monica shared a photo of Keri in the studio, along with a caption asserting the singer’s new music would likely lead to a couple of Grammys.

Keri’s first Grammy nods came back in 2010 when she was nominated for Best New Artist and for Best Rap Sung Collaboration for her work with Ne-Yo and Kanye West on her single “Knock You Down.”

More Brandy and Monica in Ebony

Brandy’s latest single, the Chris Brown assisted “Put it Down,” was released to iTunes on Tuesday and presently sits at #107 on the main chart and #7 on the R & B/Soul chart.

Brandy recently told Ebony Magazine the song is her best in years and that she hopes the public appreciates the love she put into the track, as well as all the music that will appear on her upcoming “Two Eleven” album.

If you haven’t yet purchased your copy of Ebony, which features Brandy and Monica on the cover, it is on newsstands now and is a really good read.
