Did you guys know Naturi Naughton won her first NAACP Image Award last week? I personally had no idea until I ran across photos earlier today on Wire Image. Naturi won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role of Tasha St. Patrick on the hit Starz drama Power. Her category was presented the day before the show’s live telecast at an Awards Dinner, which is probably why I missed it.

With her new Showtime drama “Power” set to debut early next month, actress Naturi Naughton stopped by Extra TV to do a bit of promo.

Naturi plays the role of Tasha St. Patrick, wife to James ‘Ghost’ St. Patrick, a drug kingpin looking to go straight.

‘Ghost,’ is played by former “Being Mary Jane” actor Omari Hardwick, who Naturi says she has been a fan of since she saw him in the independent film “Everyday Black Man” back in 2010.

Naturi Naughton Joins ‘Power’ Cast


Actress Naturi Naughton has landed one of the starring roles in the upcoming Starz original drama Power.

The series stars Omari Hardwick and tells the story of wealthy New York nightclub owner (James Ghost St. Patrck) living a double life; one: catering the city’s elite; the other: heading one of the city’s largest and deadliest drug-dealing rings.

Naturi will play Tasha, St. Patrick’s (Hardwick) wife and willing accomplice She will be joined by actress Lela Loren (St. Patrick’s mistress) and Boardwalk Empire actor Joseph Sikora (St Patrick’s business partner).

The show is executive produced by 50 Cent and is expected to debut in the first half of 2014.

Naturi Naughton’s New Movie Role

According to Shadow & Act, singer/actress Naturi Naughton has landed a role in “The Wolverine,” the follow-up to 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”

The former 3LW member, who has starred in several movies since being unceremoniously kicked out of the group back in 2002, is rumored to be playing the role of Cecilia Reyes, a doctor and former X-Men member whose mutant ability is to project an impenetrable force field around her body.

“The Wolverine” is reportedly in pre-production and set for a summer 2012 release date.

Naturi Naughton Joins “Playboy” Cast

Former 3LW member Naturi Naughton played a Playboy bunny on an episode of the AMC original series “Mad Men,” and now she is set to do the same in a pilot for NBC that focuses on the 1960’s heyday of the famed Playboy nightclubs.
According to Variety, Naturi has been cast in “Playboy” and will be joined by actress Amber Heard. Naturi will play the role of Brenda, a model who aspires to be the first black Playboy centerfold.

NBC picked up the pilot in January and it is set to be an hour long drama should it actually make the cut. Chad Hodge (“Tru Calling”) penned the script and exec produces with Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo. Twentieth Century Fox TV and Imagine TV are producing.
