‘RiRi Woo’ Sells Out

RIRI WOO SALES OUT IN 3 HOURS

Rihanna’s first collaboration with MAC Cosmetics is officially a success.

According to a company spokesman, ‘RiRi Woo,’ a remixed version of MAC’s uber successful ‘Ruby Woo’ lipstick, went on sale at 12pm EST time and officially sold out in just over three hours. MAC wouldn’t reveal exactly how many lipsticks were sold, but WWD estimated the number to be about 50,000

As previously reported, MAC brought Rihanna in as a “creative partner” and will launch four distinct color collections with the singer titled ‘RiRi [Hearts] Mac.’

Fans not lucky enough to get their hands on ‘RiRi Woo’ when it launched online yesterday will get another shot when the singer performs at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn on Saturday and Sunday night. MAC plans to set up a pop-up shop where the lipstick and various other products from the first collection will be sold. Should you not have tickets to those two shows then you’ll have to wait until June when MAC says the color will go on sale again.

Are any of you guys planning to buy ‘RiRi Woo’?

I tried but by the time I remembered it was on sale it was sold out.

I have ‘Ruby Woo’ and I call it the happiest lipstick in the world. It is the perfect Black girl red and I recommend it to anyone and everyone I can.

FYI: I checked eBay today, and just as I predicted, people lucky enough to get their hands on ‘RiRi’ are attempting to sell the $15 lipstick at a massive mark-up.

Rihanna Shows Off Fall MAC Ad

Because Rihanna believes “fall is the time to stay extra fly,” the diva has unveiled the first official ad for her “RiRi Hearts MAC Fall Collection.”

The complete 20-piece line, which features everything from lipstick to blush, to the proper tools to apply your fabulous new shades, will hit retail stores in the U.S. on October 3rd and everywhere else on October 4th.

Rihanna’s summer collection with MAC was an unequivocal success, thanks in part to RiRo Woo which sold out in just three hours and became one of the company’s best-selling lipsticks ever.

No doubt MAC is hoping for the same success with their fall collection.

Check out the ad and some of the colors below.

Rihanna Wears Her Own Brand

Rihanna’s days of making other designers rich may soon be coming to an end. The 25-year old pop diva has hung up her haute couture duds and has instead been seen jet setting across the globe in her own signature wears.

As previously reported, RiRi teamed up with River Island to launch her own capsule collection with the brand, and is presently gearing up for the September 12th release of her fall line.

Earlier this week Rihanna was seen sporting one of her own designs, a black and white print bodycon dress, which she paired with snakeskin stilettos from Roberto Cavalli, and her now signature RiRi Woo Lipstick by MAC.

Love it!

Rihanna and MAC Team Up

RIHANNA TEAMS UP WITH MAC COSMETICS

What do you do once you have conquered the world of music? Well, if you are Rihanna, you move on to the world of fashion and cosmetics.

Just days after unveiling her new capsule collection for British retailer River Island, Rihanna and MAC announced a joint venture that will feature four distinct color collections, which will be sold at Rihanna’s concerts and MAC’s official website.

John Demsey, president of MAC’s parent company Estée Lauder, called the collection a true collaboration between Rihanna and MAC, saying: “Rihanna didn’t just slap her name on a generic product. This was not a front. This is a true and organic collaboration based on mutual respect and admiration.”

RIHANNA MAC COLLECTIONSThe four collections will be known as RiRi [Hearts] MAC and will all feature RiRi Woo, a lipstick based on Rihanna’s favorite shade of MAC lipstick, Ruby Woo.
The collection will make its debut when Rihanna kicks off her ‘Diamonds Tour’ on May 4th and 5th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. MAC is helping to sponsor the tour and will open a pop-up shop on the first night to showcase the line.

Rihanna’s collaboration with MAC is the first of its kind and unlike the company’s previous liaisons with celebrities, is long-term. MAC is calling Rihanna a “creative partner” rather than a collaborator and notes that the singer’s signature will be embossed on all the products, expected to total 31 in all.

Rihanna Nabs Six Nominations + Music News

On the eve of her new single being released Rihanna was spotted out partying at Club Eden in Hollywood, California. The 23-year old pop diva is rumored to be releasing new music today, though recent reports from her fan sites say the single may be pushed back.

Rihanna’s seventh studio album, reportedly titled “Diamonds” like her upcoming tour, is due to be released in November and is once again being helmed by a gaggle of European producers and DJs, including David Guetta, Dutch DJ Nicky Romero and Calvin Harris who helped the singer score her only #1 single from “Talk that Talk.”

And in another bit of RiRi news, MTV announced nominations for their European Music Awards and Rihanna walked away with six nominations, besting Taylor Swift by one.

Performers will be announced in coming weeks; the show will air live from Frankfurt’s Festhalle on MTV channels around the world at 9 p.m. central European time.

Rihanna Lands New Movie Role

Rihanna’s acting debut in “Battleship” may have gone up in flames stateside, but that doesn’t mean she’s giving up her Hollywood dreams.

Aside from already landing a role in the upcoming Seth Rogen comedy “The End of the World” and a rumored role in the sixth installment of “The Fast and the Furious,” the pop starlet has also just signed on to voice the lead character in the upcoming animated comedy “Happy Smekday.”

And though she clearly won’t be getting any face time, she will be reaping a big payday. According to Hollywood Happenings, RiRi will pull down a cool 7 million dollars for doing what she does every day… talking.

As for her co-star, The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parson, he’s set to collect a cool 12 million.

Rihanna’s New Book & New Man

Rihanna is moving on… finally. We all know after bad break-ups men tend to hop right back into the swing of things- hitting the dating circuit usually in record time. Women however are generally just the opposite. We tend to grieve for a while- take time to reflect and then… maybe once pushed by friends decide to open ourselves up again. Chris Brown didn’t seem to grieve the loss of Rihanna too long as he was seen in the company of various women almost immediately- while Rihanna was seen mostly with girlfriends and newly hired bodyguards.

That all seems to have changed now. As my Grandma would say- Rihanna is “keeping company” with a new man and he’s not too shabby. His name is Matt Kemp and he’s a Los Angeles Dodger. He’s also a slight Chris Brown look-alike, but that’s another story in itself. The two have been spotted together before and seem to be openly letting the world they that they are item… or traveling buddies.

The two were seen arriving at LAX last night- fresh off of Rihanna’s New Year’s Eve gig in Abu Dhabi.

… and in other RiRi news- the singer is adding “Author” to her many list of credits. According to Amazon.com, Rihanna will release a book in conjunction with writer Simon Henwood called The Last Girl On Earth. Due to hit stores on June 29, 2010, it is already available for pre-order.

A lot of people are wondering what the book will be about but common sense tells me it will be nothing more than a professional tour book– an extravaganza of all things Rihanna and “Rated R.” The book is listed in the musical category and if memory serves me correctly The Beatles and Madonna have done something similar in the past.

Btw, the contributing writer to this book, Simon Henwood, is Rihanna’s all around creative director and a quick glance at his website- even while I am still writing this post- just confirmed my theory. According to SimonHenwood.com “A photo book documenting the artists: designs, film, and visuals for the American singer will be published in 2010 by Rizzoli, New York.
