Tia Mowry Quit “The Game”

Tia Mowry is leaving “The Game.” The 33-year old actress broke the news earlier this evening via her Twitter page.

Besides falling ratings, Tia’s reasons for leaving the show reportedly include her desire to devote more time to her reality series Tia & Tamera.

Rumor has it Pooch Hall may also be headed for the door. When asked about the situation by a fan via Twitter, Pooch responded by saying “They workin it out. BET is my first home.”

Sound like a contract issue to me. Brittany Daniel reportedly bailed on the show because her salary with BET wasn’t quite up to snuff either.

Whatever the case, The Game isn’t what it used to be and I stopped watching ages ago. Still, the show pulls in over 2 million viewers, which is huge for BET. I think they’ll ride it out for season 6 and then call it quits.

Tia Mowry Lands New Movie Role

Tia Mowry‘s plate is about to get a little more full. Not only is the 33-year old actress a new mommy, she is also the star of two television shows; BET’s hit comedy series “The Game” and the Style Network’s “Tia & Tamera.”

Adding to her resume, Tia will next star in the ABC Family movie “Miscletones.”

Described as a musical, ala Dreamgirls, Tia will play the role of Holly, a young woman who auditions for a spot in a singing group only to find herself on the losing end to her best friend, played by actress Tori Spelling.

Shooting is expected to begin in Utah later this month and will coincide with the season two taping of “Tia & Tamera.”

Tia Mowry Tweets About “The Game”

According to Tia Mowry, The Game’s return to network television is one step closer to being reality. The 32 year old actress went on Twitter last night to let fans know she had finally received word of when taping of new episodes would begin. It had been previously speculated that new episodes would be shot in September, with the show airing its first episodes in January 2011. Tia’s tweet pretty much confirms the taping schedule and with any luck, the show will back on television by the beginning of next year.

The Game has been off air going on two years now; if they delay airing new episodes any longer they risk the chance of losing the loyal audience that helped rally to get them back online.

Tia and Golden Return to TV

Actresses Golden Brooks, last seen on “Girlfriends” and Tia Mowry, last seen on “The Game,” will both be returning to television later this fall. Golden will be revisiting network TV, while Tia will once again dabble in the cable arena.

Golden will join the CW’s already successful dramedy “Hart of Dixie,” playing the role of Ruby Jeffries, a woman who returns to her Southern roots and befriends the show’s star Dr. Zoe Hart, played by actress Rachel Bilson.

Tia Mowry on the other hand will be bringing her talents to the kid friendly channel Nickelodeon, starring in the comedy “Instant Mom.”

The show is loosely based on the lives of writers Warren Bell and Jessica Butler. It centers on a 25-year old party girl who gives up her life as a socialite when she marries an older man and instantly becomes mother to his two young children.

Tia will take on co-producer duties as well.

Look for “Instant Mom” to be a mid-season replacement and debut sometime in November. “Hart of Dixie” will return for its second season in early September.
