Alicia Keys Joins SB Madness+Announces Tour
During the Super Bowl XLll press conference today Alicia Keys revealed that not only is she joining the performance line-up for the big football event, but will also be heading out on the road for her “As I Am” Tour- which will be sponsored by Lexus. The tour will build upon the success of Alicia’s latest CD which has already sold- get this- over 3 million copies since it was released back in November. The tour will kick off in Europe on February 25th and make stops in Paris, Milan and Zurich. The U.S. and Canadian parts of the tour kick off on April 19th in Hampton, Virginia and continue throughout the early summer. Alicia’s “As I Am” tour will visually step it up a notch as the singer has called upon iconic designer Giorgio Armani to create a custom wardrobe for the her, which I suspect will rival that of the great Cher, Tina Turner and Janet Jackson. Look for Alicia in the meantime to perform at the SUPER BOWL XLII PREGAME SHOW at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, which will air live on Fox, Sunday, February 3rd.

Good for her! She deserves all of the success she experiences and deserves a great deal of respect in my opinion. Her pants are “crotch-focusing”, but as I always say when I see that, I am glad that she still wears her pants. She always looks classy (Look at those heels though…higher than high!) and her talent is admirable in many ways. Classy, writes her own lyrics which actually mean something, composes, plays the piano. Not to mention the fact that’s she’s super smart. There’s not a bad thing that I can say about her.

My bad- update- Alicia was released in November- not December as I thought. Still, as it stands right now, Alicia is selling over a million units of As I Am a month and is #2 on the album charts again this week- almost 2 1/2 months after the cd was released.

Personally, she is one of the best performers I’ve heard yet, and she is nowhere near done yet. Like a lot of you, I keep her latest album in my CD player, and surprisingly…I’m not tired of it. The superbowl was crrraaaazzzy!!!…(well, excluding halftime) and she is an outrageous performer. I never yawned once while watching her perform, ever.{{{In my opinion, she did just as good as Prince did, during his half time show last year. Those of you that enjoy reeeal music, might agree}}}
My favorite song on the album is “I NEED YOU”, that song is brilliant, I get goosebumps just thinking of it. I like a lot more songs, but then you all would probably be like, “Okay! Why didn’t she just say she like the whole album”?
