The New York Chapter of The Recording Academy (Those people who pass out the Grammys) paid tribute to singer Alicia Keys, Bon Jovi, Donnie McClurkin and the Creators of West Side Story, last night at a dinner held at Cipriani’s. Alicia, who has never been known for her sense of fashion, showed up in an outfit that definitely made a statement. I loved the gloves and I can even stomach those gawd awful high waisted pants that have become so popular. However, I have to draw the line when it comes to those shoes. Somehow, once you combine those shoes with the white shirt, black pants and black and white gloves- you get the look of a mime- and I know that isn’t the look Alicia and her stylist were going for.
But I’ll let you guys make the call on this one. Love Alicia’s look or hate it?

I would get rid of the gloves and the shoes. It’s those gloves that are screaming for attention. I love high waisted pants though :mrgreen:
I love me some hight-waisted pants as well Jill. They look good on just about everyone and are very slimming. Alicia looks good in them too and the outfit works for with but I do would have left those shoes in the closet. The gloves are the crowing touch is you ask me. They give her outfit that added punch that make her stand out from the crowd.

Aww! You all don’t like the shoes? I think I like them. However, Alicia looks awesome! I would only do the gloves if I were performing but that’s just me. I like her look though.

IT looks like a mixture of a Horsback riding and a Fencing outfit. Its cute for her, I like it…especially the shoes

I have to get those earrings! I actually like the shoes but I’d prefer them in red, not silver. Overall, I like Alicia’s look.

Fashion is all about creativity and the confidence you have wearing it. She never goes for the “what everybody calls trendy look”. That just shows she is a simple person who has her own personality and doesn’t try to imitate anybody else. If Beyonce wore that outfit, all of ya would be “cool!”. Alicia is unique.
I love the make-up, earrings, outfir, and shoes. She looks great! Nne I agree I would were the gloves only while performing. It would add a euff but sexy edge.
