According to one sales receipts, HDD predicts ‘Girl On Fire’ will sell between 150,000 and 175,000 copies, easily landing in the number position.
And though first week sales for ‘Girl On Fire’ are significantly lower than they were for all of Alicia’s previous albums, the fact that she has scored her fifth straight number one will more than likely be record breaking and record tying.
Janet Jackson had five straight number one albums, but this feat was only achieved after having released two prior albums. Alicia could very well likely be the first female artist to have her first five albums go straight to number one. She might even be the first artist period to achieve such a feat.
Whatever the case, I’m sure Billboard will update us when the actual total is made public next Tuesday.
In the meantime, if you haven’t already bought Alicia’s ‘Girl On Fire,’ Amazon is good place to do it. They’re having a sale on all new albums released this week.
