Amerie Album Cover + Sampler

Though Amerie’s “In Love & War” album isn’t due to be released until November 3rd, an album sampler has already been put up on her official website to give the fans a taste of what is to come. So far Amerie’s first two singles (Why R U & Heard’Em All) from Love & War have struggled to catch on with fans, however that may change when they get a taste of two tracks that particularly stood out to us here at Brown Sista. First is Pretty Brown, which samples parts of Mint Condition’s 1991 hit single “Breakin’ My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)”. The song easily has first single potential and was by far my favorite track from the album. Another great tune is “Red Eye”, a sexy slow jam that Amerie’s voice just kills. Without a doubt, if given a chance by radio, Amerie could have several potential hits on her hand.

Pretty Brown is my favorite.Catchy tune.

  2. Oooohhh! Lovin that “Red Eye”…
can’t wait to cop this album.

  3. Pretty cover…can’t wait to get this.

  4. I wasn’t so sure about “Why R U” and “Brown Eyes”. While they are solid singles, they are growers. However, “Higher,” “Heard ‘Em All,” Red Eye,” are very strong
in-your-face hits. I especially love the lyrics, the usage of the intruments. Shhh…the beats are fresh. Heard ‘Em All is the boasting before the war. Higher has that fighter spirit. Red eye is that slow jam that pulls you all the way in Love :-).

I love the cover art btw.

  5. OMG! Why I love them all!!!! These samples are different from her last 2 albums.

  6. KEEP IT REAL 4 EVER

I WISH HER WELL BUT I DO NOT FEEL HER CD IS GOING ANYWHERE SPECIAL. I REALLY DO NOT LIKE WHAT I HAVE HEARD SO FAR. BUT I WILL PROBABLY BUY JUST TO SUPPORT HER. I WANT TO HER FROM SOME NEW PEOPLE NSTEAD OF THE SAME OLE PEOPLE

  7. Love the album cover and the sampler. I’ve been an Amerie fan since Why Don’t We Fall in Love and I’m loving the progression of her music. It doesn’t sound like anything currently in heavy rotation on the radio (and I hope radio gives her a chance also). I wasn’t thrilled with Why R U but once she released Heard ‘Em All, I was anticipating her album. I’m definitely feeling Higher, Pretty Brown, Red Eye and Heard ‘Em All.

  8. I hope they give her a chance

  9. The cover is hot and I love A, but i think this will be another flopper. Not that it won’t be hot b/c Why R U is crazy hot, but where is the promo. To everyone on this site that loves Amerie, lets buy her album and pray for her. I’m serious. Amerie is too good to just go away. I still haven’t got her last album, but the first two was crazy.

  10. All the songs are SOOO good, I have all her albums and she seems to get better and better. Different sound on these tracks but still sounds good to me. I dont know why she hasn’t gained as much popularity as people like Rihanna etc cos she is just as good….or even better!

  11. Here we go again(sigh) Yes, she had a couple of joints that were hot, but she is also limited talent. WAsn’t she a model first?? like Cassie?? I won’t lie, if i neva hear a song from her again…i’ll live.

  12. @BRownsista-all writers–PLEASE can u try to find the singers that are not mainstrean but still have a fan base like Jill Scott.. im not downing ya’ll, i appreciate this blog, but give the underdogs a chance. You can see not all the people that come on here are mainstream fanatics. Thanks.

  13. @ TRUTHTELLER I agree, I didnt get her last album either but her last two LP’s were hot “All I Have” & “Touch” I still listen to those albums till this day. But amerie Is still hot and I’ll support depending on the quality and effort she put into this LP

  14. @ KEEP IT REAL 4 EVER, i agree with you, i would buy it just for support, tired of the same ole same ole too

  15. That cover is sweet…. same here I might buy it depending on the quality…. haven’t wanted to buy too many albums in the last few years.
