New tracks from singer Amerie have been surfacing left and right for the past few months and that trend continues as yet another song from the singer’s forthcoming album has been leaked to the net. R n’ B Girl is a very cute-sy single that finds Amerie flexing her vocal prowess without coming off too Christina Aguiler-ish. Amerie is like Mya.Neither have any hits but keep getting in my opinion undeserved recognition while artists like India.Arie and Heather Headley go unrecognized.
You ain’t spoke nothing but the truth. Amerie has never had a hit and keeps making albums nobody is buying. I keep hearing that she is this that and the other but that’s just hype men pass her way for being cute. She has no appeal which is why other artists like Ciara and Rihanna have come up and surpassed her.
I know they going to deny it but Beyonce totally ripped Amerie’s style off. Now Amerie is considered to sound like Beyonce when it is actually the other way around.Maybe Beyonce will work with her like she did Shakira to try and throw people off the fact that she jacked her singing style and all.
Ok I think she deserves some recognition. Her last album “Touch” eas very good. It got a lot of play in DC because she’s from this area and it had that go-go feel to it. I really liked it. True, she’s not Whitney or Beyonce, but she has her own sound and she makes some original music. I can’t hate on her. She does bring something to the table.
I sort of like it. She has potential she just needs a better team of promoters
I like her my problem has always been that she doesn’t get promoted right (i AGREE) and honestly, she doesn’t have one of those voices that I want to hear all the time. I’m not saying that she can’t sing but I’m saying that I couldn’t listen to her voice enough to make me follow her all the time. She reminds me of Tina Marie. I love Tina but I can’t listne to her loud voice all the time. Amerie isn’t smooth she is rough and really raspy.
LOL LOL!!! She has good songs. I was surprised when I heard her first two albums. I was like, these songs need to be on the Radio. Oh well, what a waste.
This song is okay. Not fantastic, but not bad either. I agree with Lovher “she doesn’t have one of those voices that I want to hear all the time.”
I really like her songs “1 Thing” and “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” but I felt as if I had a lump of syrup in my throat when I listened to more than 3 songs at a time – or tried to listen to her entire album at once. Not that she can’t sing, but that was just the way I felt listening to her songs. Or maybe the my car radio’s treble control was broke that year :lol:
I don’t know why these girl’s bring little wimpy knives to a gun fight. Those songs are not the heat. Plus it’s the summer. Bring that FIRE!!!!! who can relate to those songs???? Those are throw away songs. Step yo game up, swithc the style, lyrics, take a new approach.
It’s an ok song. I wish people stop saying Beyonce stole her style. What style? Amerie didn’t come out with no original sound or style. She didn’t invent go-go, she isn’t from DC, she just lived there, nor did Touch get alot of play, One Thing did. Amerie wasn’t even on the go-go tip when Beyonce dropped Crazy In Love BEFORE One Thing.
