While some former members of the group Destiny’s Child cannot seem to get over the past and what might have been, others have chosen to put Beyonce and the “Family Knowles” behind them and move on with their careers.Tamar Davis, former member of Girls Tyme- is doing just that.Though not an official member of the group known as Destiny’s Child, Tamar was with the troop when they performed on Star Search under the name Girls Tyme.After being booted from the group Tamar chose to stay in school, eventually finishing college and then making the hook up that would change her life.
After being spotted by Prince, the purple one took her under his wing and produced her first solo album and now the pair are nominated for a Grammy for their duet Beautiful, Loved And Blessed.Both Tamar and Prince are scheduled to perform at the ceremony next week so please tune in to see this sista do her thing.Tamar is a powerhouse performer and when you watch her you will easily see why Prince wanted to work with her.

I remember seeing her last year.She is very charismatic and really pretty.Something about her mouth and the way she talks is sexy.She’s got an earthiness about her that is appealing.Her voice is soft and sexy and goes well with Prince’s on a slow song.I love the groove of her album but it didn’t get much play.Most of Prince’s women always stay in his shadow.I’m glad the sister was able to bounce back but she needs to step away from Prince if she really wants to shine.

I have to agree with Chris here.No one shines as brightly as Prince, much less the ladies.Unlike The Twins, Tamar toured and performed with Prince as a singer/musician but she was still in the background and quite honestly I don’t think the music they made together on her first album was all that good.
I think Prince’s days of writing and producing great music for others is long gone.
There was a fabulous clip of Prince and Tamar performing together on You Tube but the Beyonce fans bum rushed it and made all types or negative comments about her.Tamar and Beyonce have a similar performance style… very wild and aggressive on stage.Tamar definitely has a rawness about her but it takes more to make in than that and without a bonafide hit she will remain in the shadow of not only Prince but Destiny’s Child as well.
Tamar has a beautiful voice and is very pretty.She can make it on her own with the right supporting team.As a matter of fact I always felt Tamar and Kelly had the best chnace out of all the former DC members to have successful solo career.
I hope she does well new talent is always refreshing and much needed right now in the r&b industry.
She is a beautiful woman and I wish her the best. But I don’t think the others are held in the past, LeToya and LaTavia I am sure their experience was slightly different b/c they had made it to the “bigtime” and then were released from the group. I am sure eventually all of these talented women will succeed if they continue on the journey.:mrgreen:

She was a former member of Girls Tyme. Not Destiny’s Child. They are two totally different groups.

YEAH THERE IS A DIFFRENCE BETWEEN THE TWO AND SHE DOESN’T GET TO BE AN EX-MEMEBER AND TRY TO MAKE THEM LOOK WORSE THAN THEY ALREADY DO WITH PEPLE.. LETS JUST SAY SHES A NEW ARTSIT AND WISH HER WELL. ITS HARD OUT THERE AND THAT HAIR STYLE WILL MAKE IT 10 TIMES WORSE AND HARDER.
