It seems Ashanti has another modest hit on her hands with her new single “Good Good”. The track, which officially went for adds today, was the #1 most added song at urban radio stations; and not one to waste time, the singer’s record label also released the video for the single today as well. The Melina directed clip features a cameo from rapper Nelly and features the singer all dolled up in hair curlers and surrounded by tasty treats. “Good Good” was written by Ashanti and Nelly and marks the fourth time the couple have collaborated on a song together.
And in other Asahnti news, the singer attended the ESPY Awards tonight and is also scheduled to appear on 106 & Park this Thursday and Friday, July 17 and 18th.

Ashanti do your thing.
GO TEAM ASHANTI!!
I freakin’ love her!
One of my fav tracks from the cd and I really like the video…It’s different, chessy but in a good way…It’s refreshing that it doesn’t look like everyother video out here. It definitely stands out. Go Ashanti!!!
cute dress
I like this pinup look of Ashanti. The song is not bad itself. Melina is also doing her thing.
well i must say that i’m not really an ashanti fan, but that was a cute video and song. Good job gettin’ Melina to make a video that actually matches up with the song!
Sitting on top of that milkshake reminded me of Kelis’ photo shoot where she is seen doing the same. I think the ending of the video could have been better. She had on the same thing when her man came home that she had on when her left. Poor editing and plot definition. Cute and colorful but totally uninspiring.
Very cute video. I love this song and her CD is good (I can’t wait until she releases the song with her and Robin Thicke “Things You Make Me Do” or “Girlfriend”). The video fits the theme of the song, but I have to agree with Dana about the ending. Her attire should have been different since you’ve cleaned, went grocery shopping, etc but you had the same thing on when he arrived and departed. Otherwise, loved it!!
So cute
The Declaration cd is great I love “mother” and “girlfriend”
I wish people would give her props Ashanti is talented
So adorable with Nelly
I like the song and video. It’s different, for her and I think she really needed that change/switch up. Go Ashanti!!
One of my favorite songs on the CD. Cute video. It could have went in a whole other direction, so this was good. She is very talented and wish her the best. She needs more exposure.
Loving the retro/pinup vibe from this video and the song is pretty cool too. You done good, Ashanti!
I am really feeling the song. I will have to watch the video when I get home from work. The song is a nice, fun, summer song. On other sites I read where chicks didn;t like the song, I guess you wouldn’t understand if you don’t have that Good Good. The entire album is actually great. i was very impressed. It is sad she is not getting the exposure and support she deserves.
I heard she has my baby Nelly in the video. I have to see this. I will watch it when she premiers the video. Ashanti is my girl. I have to listen to the cd on my loooong ride home.
Ashanti looks very beautiful in the video. Plus, I don’t normally like her style, but I adore the maxi dress she’s wearing in the pics. Great look!
This is cute. this is like my only time to see videos b/c I don’t watch much TV. The video was well put together. I was dying-laughing when Ashanti had her legs sticking out of the couch when she was under it. LOL!
You can always tell when Malina directs a video.
This one lets me down after “The Way That I Love You”, which I absolutely loved. This video and this song leaves me pretty empty-minded, and I was waiting for her second single. I’ll also try not to take this video too seriously and put a message with it that Ashanti may or may not be trying to give. She’s pretty, and I think she’s talented, but she can bring more to the table than this.
ashanti did her thing… omg.. totally love it… Ashanti… may be our next soror.. just kidding.. go girl
Congrats to Soror Obama!
AShanti has so much talent but people expect a new thing everyday
even her rivals need to step up their game in order for the next album to sell
I think rihanna brought a new mode and if you can’t bring what you personally have
then you can’t make it even if you have a strong fan base
Great Cd thought and the kiss with nelly is so CUte
Wow – by Bey and Jay’s 4th song together, they were international hits.
I hope Ashanti can comeback…
this song sucks and is the reason why Obama haD to give the speech to our community AND ALSO WHY OUR COMMUNITY IS SUFFERING… 70% of black kids are born out of wedlock, black women accounted for two-thirds of newly diagnosed HIV/AIDS cases among U.S. women, and black men accounted for half of new diagnoses among U.S. men, BUT ALL WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT IS HAVING THAT GOOD GOOD… SICK
Great video that is giving you a very retro feel. I noticed too many folks are clueless about the Betty Boop and 50 pin-up style she is rocking lately. Ashanti is rocking this style off the chain. And, let’s be clear about the message in the song. This message is far more positive than Lolipop that all you ignorant fools went out to buy, along with a few other low budget songs. This song is about two people involved, and a sista doing what she has to do to please her man is fine, as long as that man is pleasing her as well. From this video, it’s showing a brotha heading off to work in a suit, and sista girlfriend staying home to take care of the house. The joke of it is she is barely doing so. Almost similiar to I Love Lucy. So great job Ashanti. And, her look was so classy and sexy without being nasty.
Not Quite, will you calm down and get a damn life! It is not that serious, and Ashanti is not just talking about giving her man sex to make him stay at home. She cooks, cleans, sees him off to work, looks sexy, as well as make love to her man when he’s home. She does what she is supposed to do as his woman. What in the world does this song have to do with HIV and out of wedlock births?
Let me tell you. Absolutely nothing. We have the problems we do in the black community because there are too many irresponsible and lazy adults who blame everyone else for their problems. Don’t you dare blame Ashanti for what’s wrong with us. Blame those lame *** adults who would rather live an irresponsible life.
