Before Whitney, There Was Janet…
So what’s new with singer-actress Janet Jackson these days? Not much it seems. After coming down with bronchitis a few weeks ago, Janet seems to keeping a somewhat low profile. Janet did appear at the 2008 Kids Choice Awards last week but said she would still be taking it easy for the next few weeks. Janet laying low however does not mean her name is completely out of the headlines. Whitney’s Houston ex-husband, Bobby Brown, is coming out with a new tell all and mentions none other than Miss Jackson herself. Bobby claims in his tell all “Being Bobby Brown: The Truth and Nothing But …” that during the mid 80’s he and Janet were an item but broke up because her parents didn’t want her with a Black man. Bobby goes on to claim that the break up with Janet led him to hit the bottle- hard.
On his relation with Janet, Bobby says:
“I can recall that I started drinking heavily when Janet Jackson and I broke up,” he writes. “Before I met Janet I would never drink hard liquor, I only drank beer. But after our break up, I started drinking hard liquor abundantly. I took the way our relationship ended very hard. Not to say we were head over heels in love, but she was someone I had a lot of feelings for. Besides, we were young and naive. I was only about 19 or 20 years old. Young love is no joke!”
Not one to take responsibility for his actions, Bobby then goes on the pin his heavy drug use on the mother of his child, as well as the woman who reportedly bailed him and his family out of numerous financial situations, Whitney Houston.
Speaking on his former wife, Bobby says:
Brown writes in his new book; “I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice.” He goes on to blame Whitney for his use of cocaine to heroin, weed and cooked cocaine.
Bobby also claims that Whitney only married him to clean up her image and squash rumors of a lesbian affair between she and her best friend, Robin Crawford.
Whitney issued a statement via her agent denying the claims. Janet on the other hand hasn’t said a word and probably won’t. We all know Janet is far to classy to muddy herself up with anything having to do with Bobby Brown.

Whitney was no saint prior to Bobby, in the sense that she had a foul mouth and was known not to be as sweet as she acted. However Whitney was always associated with decent men before Bobby came along and you are right Stephanie about Whitney tototally taking care of Bobby and his family. In the beginning of their relationship there was always news about Whitney paying to keep his homes out of foreclosure and one of Bobby’s baby mamas said Whitney paid his child support and not him. He also drug Whitney and his family on tv knowing they were drug addicts and would act fool to the public. He didn’t care though cause he just wanted any type of attention he could get and of course the money. Now here is is like all men who write tell alls, bringing other women into his madness to make himself look innocent and like da man when he is really just a tired pathetic has been who is still looking for his next shot at fame.

Bobby has issues; guess he decided to take a page out of Karrine(aka Superhead)Stephens book. They are both two pathetic human beings. It` worst in the case of Karrine Stephens because she`s “SUPPOSEDLY” a woman, and sistas I don`t mean to sound like a male chauvinist. man i’ve heard all that information that sean was talking about. i usually go to janet-xone.com myself but there is janet-love.com. they had those stories up on there to. plus janet has stated in radio interviews that there will be more music videos and she’ll be going over-seas to promote the album and such. plus we all know…..and wish for the tour to go down.

Whitney probably was doing Cocaine and other drugs before Bobby. Britney was probably half-crazy before Kevin. But one thing’s true, no one knew and it didn’t matter before these guys came along, took advantage of them, and then stepped away after the downfall. After all that she has done for him and his family, and I do believe she has, it’s plain not classy to show up and tell-all. He’s a sad guy.

Go Bobby!!!! Bobby Brown was and is a star in his own right. He came out before Whitney.. I consider Bobby an artist because he wrote his own stuff. Whitney has an amazing voice, but she doesn’t write her own stuff and therefore is broke. She has to tour to keep up with expenses. And retainer fees have to be paid in between albums when the money is not coming in. She should be smarter financially. Whitney broke!! How embarrassing!! Ok. I don’t know about the rest of you sisters, but I have an ex-husband who says things about me like Bobby said about Janet. Not surprisingly, he always leaves out the (oh…and by the way, I started hitting her when she was 18….and yeah, I cheated on her a lot and put her down), men with issues rarely accept that their issues are THEIR issues.
Back to Bobby, Read deeper–what he is really saying goes a little something like this:
“I was really really open…Janet had me sprung–and when she broke up with me, I damn near had a nervous breakdown and had to hit the bottle to get through it. I thought I was the ****–but Janet put it on me and I’m still not over her!!! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh boo hoooo waaaaaaaaaa boo hooo!”
Personally, I find his comment amusing, and kind of disturbing at the same time.
So it is Janet’s fault he is an alcoholic and Whitney’s fault that he is a crackhead?

I don’t believe Bobby Brown when he says him and Janet had to break up because her parents wanted her to date Anglo Saxon men. I also don’t believe him when he says Whitney Houston started him to using cocaine. Both accusations just sound like lies. Life is about choices and he chose to drink and use cocaine. Blaming others and not taking responsibility for his own actions shows that he has deep rooted issues that he needs to work on elevating. And like some of you have mentioned he is just seeking a way to get attention and make money.

Bobby never takes responsibility for the things he does. I started drinking but it was because Janet left me. I started doing heavier drugs but it was because I wanted to do what my wife did! Come on, grow up! I have always liked Bobby’s music he is a talented man but he is truly a troubled soul. How would his comments make his child feel? I am so happy Whitney is not even wasting her time to respond to him. I do not believe Whitney was the little princess that Clive presented to the world when she met Bobby (which is probably a large part of her attraction to Bobby, he saw that other side of her and it didn’t bother him, she could be totally free with him). Regardless of that his drug use is his own doing and it is up to him to keep his life in order and do the right things. Big grown rusty a$$ man.
