Rihanna is the ultimate fashionista. She can work the hell out of a slinky Gucci gown, a quirky Zac Posen party dress complete with plume feathers and ruffles, knee-high Balenciaga sandals, or even a conductor hat! Besides fashion, Rihanna is a huge beauty buff — you can always find her in the hottest nail colors and trends and hairstyles like her amazing cropped cuts that had brown sistas saving the nearest salon on speed dial, trying to keep up with all her different do’s. She she wore — mushroom, piecey, curled, sweeped, slicked, fluffed, burgundy, brown, jet black, silver hair streaks…the list goes on!
Rihanna was also chosen as the “face” of Gucci’s new Tattoo Hearts collection, and was even the inspiration behind the entire concept. With that, came amazing and exclusive gowns, heels, bags, jewelry — whatever. She still has a huge contract with CoverGirl, and even worked with H&M to design t-shirts for ‘Fashion Against AIDS’.
I so agree! Her style is so innovative, fresh and unique. You can’t really put a label on her style! You can’t say it’s glam or rock or laid back. It’s just innovative and hip. You don’t know what she is going to wear next. Albeit, I will say it’s not necessarily her style. I mean she did NOT dress like this when she first came out. It’s more like her stylist’s style, even if she does have input on what she is going to wear. Still, cool style.
I agree with Santi: Rihanna does have a great style. Sometimes though she dresses like a lady of the night when she is in concert, but she does have great fashion sense. I look forward to her doing even better with her fashions and singing. And hopefully she will up her game in doing live performances.
I don’t think there’s a young woman in the business that can touch Rihanna when it comes to style. She pulls off her “style” without it seeming contrived and formulated…one word, EFFORTLESSLY! GO RIHANNA!

People kill me with saying it’s her stylist creating all these looks. I think that people forget Rihanna goes shopping we always see the pictures I never see a stylist with her. I think Rihanna knows what works best for her body and her style. I think maybe her stylist comes out when she has Red carpet events. Many celebs good ones have stylist who pick their Red carpet dresses for them. I don’t Rihanna’s stylist is saying Rihanna wear this Monday and this on Tuesday. I think you guys are going too far. Also, no artist has much control over who they are first introduced to the scene when they come out. Rihanna was a little girl when she first came out. People have to grow into their style. Maybe some of ya’ll should go back and look at artist when they first came out and compare them to now. I don’t know one artist who is getting good attention when they first came out. Think back to Alicia Keys, Destiny Child, Christina A., Brittney, look at some of them now. Some have come with great style while others have stayed stagnant.
rhihana is a real trendsetter no one can touch this girl now….she look so comfortable and at ease….i alway go to her beautiful website to jack her fashion and hairstyle….i think i may have to go to rehab for this habit….have you seen her shopping or just coming out of the airport?she is always on point…dnt hate on this girl,she is in her own skin and she is only what? 20

Rihanna should have gotten the Show Stopper and Style Maven awards as well. Regarding style there was no one who could touch her in 2008. Maybe she will make some other people step up their game in 2009.
u know when your fashionista when u just wear a tank top, a pair of jeans and shoes/trainers/heels and ppl are falling over a simple outfit anyone could wear or there are haircuts named after you. Something simple and it looks fierce. She does deserve the title. She had the entire fashion game non stop.

Rihanna is definitely a fashonista and what a year she had in 2008. She is a beautiful girl. i dont have a problem with what she wears on stage because I just see it as part of the “costume” that goes with the choreography, song, etc that her people set up. I am happy she is fairly conservative off-stage.
this is right on point rihanna’s music is ok except for disturbia i still beat that ish at times, i love that song, but her style is definitely something i truly admire about her, she should have her own clothing line i would love that!
