Well…I think that makes four commercials at one time. She’s making money, indeed. However, she has also proven that she can most definitely be bought and it doesn’t matter what it’s for. Beyonce could probably care less about DirectTV, and the commercial isn’t creative since it’s basically just an edit. However, she’s not in charge of that, DirectTV is. If her goal is money and nothing more, then she has done it. I’m starting to wonder whether she in the business because she loves it, and which satisfies her more at the end of the day: Her music or her paychecks?

Of course, some people are in it for the Glamor and the Gold. May Success be experienced in whatever form one sees it in!

I try to like Beyonce, I really do. BUT…. I say, perfect your craft before you try to put your foot in everything else. She is becoming a “jack of all trades and a master of none”. Her music is slipping–B’Day was rushed and seriously lacking. Then she dares to act and flops at that. House of Dereon is the cheapest, whackest clothing line out. I applaud her for making money. That is something she is great at. And if that’s her aim in life at this point then get it girl, u have succeeded. But if she wants to go down in history as a real artist, one who makes timeless, classic music, then I suggest she “sat down” and put some time into her music and stop trying to capitalize on everything that comes her way.

And speaking of good music, I heard Alicia Keys’ new album at MTV The Leak and it’s AMAZING to say the least.

Just to set the record straight I am not a full fledge Beyonce fan. Diplomatic? Maybe, I tend to look at all angles before making a judgment about things. I dont let my personal feeling dictate what is right and what is wrong or what is fair and what isn’t. In America money is power so if I see a sista or brotha obtaining the American Dream I am proud because there was a time when my people didnt even have the power to protect their families from being sold off in slaves autions. We are the most remarkable race of all time because all the rights that we have we FOUGHT for. The rights other minority benefit from are because of our ancestors. I am very proud of that because it really is us against the world. So I will always respect a Black American making paper and knocking down doors. I may not like the mode of operation but to go from nothing to something is not easy. I will respect a drug dealer who is smart enough to make enough money to get himself and his family up out of the ghetto and into a better situation before I respect a “nickel and dimer”. This is America, this coutry was built on the most evils I could ever imagine, but this is the greatest country in the world and there is no place I’d rather be. It was not built off of morals and values. So lets not kid ourselves and be so judgmental. We are so worried about what the next person is doing instead of concentrating on our own lives where we have control. Blacksista I know what you saying, about her not being up under Jay all of the time but I say this, She is a very, very busy woman. Shen needs to be up under him a little more often if you ask me. I like beyonce BUT overexposure is bad people. When you become overexposed people grow tired of you, start to resent, and resentment always turns into hate. Remember 7 years ago when Jarule was fire. Well, he also became extremely overexposed, jumping on everyone’s record, making music that was stale JUST so he could get more $$ and exposure. Well people turned against him and grew tired of seeing his elf lookin’ behind.

50cent is about to see the same fate at JaRule. His records aren’t selling, he’s becoming more desperate in the media, he’s got way to many ventures that are pulling him in too many directions and his very public rantings are starting to turn people against him. Overexposure does that too you. Once people start to see you everywhere, they tend to judge you more harshly because you’re putting yourself out there to be judged.

Beyonce needs to sit down. Take some time off and spend some time with her man. People need to miss you! Putting out week records like B-day, and stretching that staleness for as long as people can stomach it, ain’t a smart move. The only winning single on that was irreplaceable. Then she had a million videos she promoted, and her glittery gold Walmart like clothing line, her stinky perfumes, and her other outside endorsements. People she’s got MILLIONS of dollars. So, at this point she’s really not doing it for the money. She’s doing it for ego.

Black sista I agree with you. But one would think that some of the people making comments here know Bey personally. Instead if we are honest with ourselves we’d understand the root of our bitterness. Wow Des I totally agree with your statement, in the everyday world women like Beyonce are perscuted to their faces about some of the same issues some of these women on this board have about themselves. Alot of this is insecurity within our race of each other and ourselves as black people. I hate to say it but the skin color issue is a very big factor here in Beyonces case.

Women who are pretty in the black community are vilified sometimes, are seen as gold diggers and user, and people who have had all the breaks, even if they worked their behinds off for umpteenth years, in our communities or should I say certain ghettos, people like her are hated on because they made something out of themselves. Basically this is all its about!

I myself is under 30 and very very very successful but i don’t see any “sisters” of mine giving me any comments even my own patients they won’t tell me nothing like “dang sista you’re doing your thing” or” we are proud of you ” none like that but the next minute beyonce is on tv they will almost cry on her “success”

so i came to understand that black women(not all of them but the majority) have a specific ideo of what black women can do …. it doesnt matter if you went to college and earned diploma if you have a bunch of men drooling over you,is half naked and most important try to run as far as you can from your heritage than a lot of black women will be on your side and treat everybody else of “hater” what world are we gon leave to our childrens?

I’m sure the women at your job don’t even think about you on their own time. But they weigh heavily on your mind. You put your business out on this board and because of that, you have opened yourself up to all types of criticism. I could never have the problem you have at work because I own and operate my own practice and I am also under the age of 30. But, I don’t go around flaunting my success and that’s why I am at peace. If you haven’t realized, God has truly blessed each and every one of us in some way shape or form. We are all unique in our greatness, so, get off your high horse.
