Beyonce Eyes New Sunglasses Line

Beyonce Knowles is set for a fashion war showdown with Victoria Beckham over sunglasses. The R&B diva has revealed she’s hoping to add sunglasses to the Knowles family’s House Of Dereon style empire - a move which will directly impact Posh Spice Beckham’s accessory line. Beckham has wowed the Hollywood elite with her jeans and sunglasses for the past 18 months - with Eva Longoria Parker and Jennifer Lopez among the fans of her stylish sunspecs. But now Beyonce and her mother Tina Knowles have their sights set on sunglasses success. Tina Knowles says, “I can’t wait for jewellery and sunglasses because we’re just accessories people.”

Who says she’s competing with Posh in the sunglasses arena? I think that area of fashion is wide enough to accomodate plenty of lines and designers (and it does). Regardless, those two are in different arenas when it comes to style. I think Posh is known for it more than Beyonce though, in my mind.
Not a big deal at all to me. I’ve been peeking at the Dereon line, but every time I do, I say to myself “Why buy this when I can buy Baby Phat?” and to the Fabulous Kimora I go.

Why do people flip out every time Dereon or House of Dereon is expanded? It’s a clothing line for heaven’s sake. There isn’t a line out there that isn’t constantly being expanded on a daily basis. Eventually they will branch out into make-up and fragrances, like most other clothiers do. Beyonce doesn’t have to always be photographed wearing sunglasses in order to add them to her clothing collection. She is never photographed wearing hats but they have them too at Dereon. I have never seen her wearing lingerie either but the press release says that is coming as well.
Some people need to lighten up.

Noone likes her clothes so what makes her think people are going to want to buy her sunglasses? Especially when lines like Posh’s or Chanel, Gucci, Luis Vuitton or Fendi or even no name brand shades are available! Honestly, Id rather wear Posh’s line anyday over any crap Beyonce puts out.

KLS is probably the gudiest, cheapest, down in the ghetto fashion line I have ever seen. They are as worse as Dereon but surely aren’t above them. No way anyone can bash Dereon in favor of KLS.Their purses are particularly bad and made of what they call “fabricated leather”. Most urban lines throw their name and logo all over their clothing because that is what urban folks are into, LABELS that make them feel speacial. Problem is all those labels ruin the clothing in my opinion. Who wants to wear a shirt with the name of company all over it? I mean everything, shoes, hats, boots, you name it and they basically tag it. Both KLS and Dereon are like that which is why they appeal to poor city kids and not grown classy women. In my opinion they both stink equally. If I were to support one though it would be Beyonce cause at least I would be supporting a BLACK OWNED company and family.

LOL! If the clothes line is any indication of what this new line of sunglasses has instore, I’ll pass. I sure as hell won’t be walking around looking like a HOD clown! LMAO! That ish will have spikes, glitter, sequins, three lens, a crystal nose grip, Dereon written aross the lens like Souja Boy glasses,etc… I’ll stick with Posh. She is the epitome of great style.

I really don’t think there is going to be a war between Victoria Beckham and Bey…they cater to 2 different markets. dVb jeans sell upwards of $240 from what I have seen while you can get jeans for $50 from House of Dereon, regular (non-denim) pants are on sale for even less.
I also think that while this is merely an expansion of her clothing line, she couldn’t compete with Posh Spice for the sunglasses market. People love those oversized shades Posh is always rocking, they wanna look like that…at least I do anyway.
That said I’m glad they are expanding…love cheap shades. I’m hoping they are not blinged out though. My SJP $10 sunglasses broke and my Aldo Aviator 1s are played out. With the brutal TX sun coming back I need a new pair of shades:)

I don’t wear Baby Phat either, but when I look at the two, I see that Dereon seems to be imitating Baby Phat. I’m no expert, but when I compare Dereon to Baby Phat, I think BP would have the better quality, even when they float around the same price range.
When it comes to the consumer-priced clothing, Express is my favorite. They make some classy stuff. I hate glittery beads and bedazzled stuff. But I do like Kimora.

over here would not be caught dead in dvb, Posh is not classed as stylish and people think she is fake;(always pouting)what mother do you know always wears a dress and heals to watch a football match or take the children to the park? she is not real. I glanced at this topic and was influenced to go look at BP’s line again, as well as Dereon…and I played a fun game called “Pick the Pieces that don’t have the name on them…”. I swear sometimes it was like “Where’s Waldo” on some of those pieces. Try it! I never really noticed before. I noticed, but I didn’t know it was to that extent.

This isn’t going to affect Victoria’s line at all (although her tastes is oft-questioned)… Nobody wears house of dereon except for…and I’ll be blunt…tack people and/or fans. But, Victoria’s line is probably a favorite to the same sorts of people…

I think she may have a better shot with an accessory line. Let’s face it, have you ever seen her without jewelry on? She is the queen of glam. Even on the beach she is ALWAYS bejeweled.
