Blu Is The New Pink
Pink lipstick that is. Blu Cantrell made a rare appearance earlier this week at the BET Awards After Party, and the sista’s lips arrived before she did. I know this fuschia colored lipstick is suppose to be one of the hottest make-up trends of the summer but I am not feeling this look on darker skin tones. Both Blu and Beyonce have tried to pull off this look and failed. I will admit Bey’s color was a little more realistic, while Blu’s shade looks a bit more clownish. Personally with the weather warming up I think it’s best to skip heavy greasy lipstick all together and just go with a touch of M.A.C Lipglass. In the past Blu’s crazy fashion sense and make-up choices have usually been a favorite of mine but this look I will have to give a thumbs down to. Sistas of all shades need to let this trend pass them right on by.

But the pink lipstick hurts my eyes on the close up pics. I don’t see how any of these stars find it attractive. It doesn’t even look like a natural lip color! Neon makeup should be left in the 80s.

M.A.C Lipglass is the bomb but it costs too damn much money. I eneded up buying some cheap 99 cent gloss at a beauty supply store and it was just as good. As for poor Blu, she has become really weird over the years. She dresses funny and often looks a little out of it. I still love her voice but girlfriend is straight batty.

I like light pink gloss. I mean, at least she dares to be bold, but if she had to have that shade of pink she could’ve at least wore an outfit that complimented it. Better luck next time, I guess.

If you want nice pink lips, I definitely recommend MAC Viva Glam IV Frost Lipstick topped with a coat of Pinkarat Lusterglass Lipglass. I’ve been rockin it all summer, and it’s hot. :thumbsup:

I admit this shade of pink is totally wrong but Blu’s overall style is fantastic. She is a lot like Kelis and has her own personal style rather than a stylist. Were Blu a bigger star and had a few more hits under her belt she would be considered a budding fashion icon just as Kelis and Beyonce are.
