Brandy Collaborates with Sam Smith

Brandy and British crooner Sam Smith have reportedly recorded new music together. The former Zoe Ever After star revealed the surprise collaboration during a recent interview with a South African news station. In advance of her upcoming tour in the country, The Vocal Bible shared several tidbits with the network, including the fact that the two performers have crossed musical paths before.

“I worked with Sam Smith for the first time four years ago, and then again recently,” she told Channel 24 News. “And now I’m like one of his biggest fans.”

Outside of the revelation, Brandy gave no further details about either of their two collaborations. It stands to reason the first may have been scrapped due to the singer’s ongoing legal battle with her record company. Brandy sued her label two years ago, citing a number of reasons, including breach of contract for their unwillingness to release her long-delayed seventh studio album.

For his part, Smith has been very vocal about his love for Brandy, including his praise of her Beggin and Pleadin single.
