Brown Sista Pics From Grammys 2008

Is anyone besides me watching the Grammys tonight? My gosh it is such a snooze fest. I usually skip the show and catch the highlights online, but because rumors of a Janet Jackson performance have been sweeping the net recently, I decided to tune in. Unfortunately, Janet has not taken to stage yet and wasn’t on the red carpet either. Alicia Keys however, performed a duet with Frank Sinatra and Rihanna performed alongside The Time.

Other Brown Sistas to walk the red carpet so far include Fantasia, Toccara and Keyshia Cole.

1. I just watched Tina And Beyonce and I must ask… Why did they perform together? I mean I know the logic of it all (getting the two of them to perform while Tina is still with us). But really as I watched I could not help but wonder. Tina needed absolutely no help performing, but then again she has been doing this for years (black eyes, broke heels and all). As a die hard Beyonce fan I have to admit my eyes were on Tina the whole time! And Her Breast! I will give it up to Beyonce, she did HER thing! As in her OWN thing cause she was all over the place. I think the younger Tina is a bit more controlled and refine with her moves. All and all I love them both.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed C. Underwood!

2. tina killed beyoncé that’s all i’m still shaking from that performance
do never mess with old school folks especially tina she will chew you up spit you and move on to the next wannabe
rihanna was okay
carrie underwood was good
alicia and kanye made me cry

3. I have to speak out on Kanye West because I feel he was so distasteful. His performance was fine but his acceptance speech was as I knew it would be- arrogant and in poor taste. If ever he should have conducted himself with some class and humility, it was at that moment. Instead he chose to over-talk and ramble on and on when he shouldn’t have. He used his own mother’s death to once again stroke his own huge ego and it just looked so bad. Take the award, than your Mama and go sit down Kanye. Honor your Mother by being the class act she probably raised you to be. Geez.

4. stephanie i agree on kanye but when i performed the song for his mama i was dying crying

5. I agree Stephanie, I actually felt embarrassed for him. If he has any real friends in the industry or other wise, they would tell him that he needs to check himself.

6. I disagree, I think Hollywood is too fake and only go off appearance and what is proper. In Kanye’s defense there is nothing wrong with ruffling a few feathers. If he decide to used his mother’s death in that manner that is his perogative. After the “President Bush doesn’t care about black people” incident I would expect him to march to the beat of his own drum.

7. And just to be a little petty (which is normally not my style) I betcha they stopped that music!

8. I agree with Stephanie, I didn’t like how he used his mom’s death to get his way and speak as long as he liked as he said it would have been “in good taste” for him to accept his award and said his thank yous in a timely fashion like everyone else. He always seems to think someone owes him something, he’s like a child and just way to arrogant. Anyways I liked Alicia’s performance and I liked Beyonce and Tina’s performance but it kinda seemed like Beyonce was holding back and paying to much attention to Tina instead of just going for it full out like she usually does. Tina didn’t need her watching over her she maybe up there in age but she still did her thing. It was still a good performance overall though.

9. Kelis and Nas get the  from me. We got a brotha running for president and it’s black history month. But what they do? They wear the word “Nigger” on their clothes. I like Nas and Kelis, but I’ll save my money when their albums come out.

10. I agree Chocolate Girl. They should have in my opinion not been allowed inside the venue with those jackets on. :noway:

11. And if I were the producer I would have turned the music up louder because he dosen’t run the show. if he really wanted to dedicate the award to his mother he would’t have wasted time talking about how he is the best and people should’nt come out with their album at the same time as him. He also wasted time talking about who deserves album of the year. When Jamie Foxx won his oscar he delivered a dedication to his grandmother that was remembered in a positive light in the media for weeks.

12. About kanye :
Even in his mother’s death, we can count on Kanye to be his predictable arrogant self.
To demand you have more time on stage is so DIVA-esk leave that to beyonce.
Maybe instead of dissing folks, you should have used your time more wisely and – in your mom’s honor – more “gracefully.”
There’s a difference between confidence and pretentiousness. Kanye’s pompousness is classless, immature and detrimental to long-term success.
As a black woman that loves Kaye’s music and knows what it’s like to be told you’d never make it,
I want to sincerely say: Kayne, resentment and anger hurts you more than anyone else.
nice performance

About tina and beyoncé:
beyoncé looked strange to me and i hate the new hair and the dress look cheap
but beyoncé can make a 60 years old get up and dance she has energy
that is why i sat down (even tought she is not my favorite person in the world) to watch her
i sat down to watch her because i already know tina i know every move and i know she can knock anyone down
but to have the craziest fans on heart, and being labelled the hottest entertainer and chick in the game
i expected so much more from beyoncé so much more i knew she would never outstage tina in a million of year but lawd
what i saw was a scared beyoncé that knew she was out of her league her body language was weak and to cover up she decided to be all over the place
wich confirmed what i tought beyoncé is only beyoncé next to untalented people she can not handle her own when a real challenges comes up …
inext thing you know she will say in interview that she held back against tina by respect for her
great performance thanks tina for the ass whupping of the year
yawn next……

about rihanna and the time:
i loved the performance umbrella ella ella eh eh eh if this girl takes singin classes she will be good at the end
nice performance thanks “the time” for the back up

about alicia keys:
she killed it all the only thing i didnt like was her hair everything else was perfect
she is polite classy beautiful talented and well adored by her peers and her predescessors
she is great i loved no one and i have the feeling that this song will win record of the year next year
we love you alicia great performance

as for the rest congratulation to everyone they all looked good and i’m feeling umbrella for record of the year

Speak on it sista- speak on it. I knew Kanye would do that but hoped he wouldn’t. He’ll see as his behavior will be written about poorly in the papers. But then that will just give him another reason to whine and complain.

14. congrats to rhianna, First Jay-Z told her to speak, but then he kept chiming in like he has never been in the spot light before. The cameras and microphone must be a drug to some of these industry people.

15. I fail to see the hype behind Amy Whinehouse. I have tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but she leaves me cold.

16. :stop: I just watched the Grammys and could somebody tell me why did The Time need Rihanna to performe? I mean didn’t she do the same thing last year at one of those other music award shows with Chris Brown? Was it the American Music Awards? I used to think that song “Umbrella” was tolerable, but now I can’t stand hearing it. They keep shoving it down my throat, Kinda like Josh Stone. I mean even the audience cooled down when she did her thing, then picked back up when The Time went back to “Jungle Love”. It would have been great just seeing them performe again. I mean this is the original “GUCCI CREW”! We can see rihanna any time. What Time Is It? :hater:

17. Each performance featured a nominated artist performing with an artist from yester-year. That is why Alicia performed with Sinatra, Rihanna with The Time, Beyonce with Tina and so son and so on.

18.
I fail to see the hype behind Amy Whinehouse. I have tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but she leaves me cold.
:hifive: ditto, Stephanie!!

I didn’t watch the show at all…. glad ya’ll giving me the lowdown

19. Nas and Kelis need they a$$ BEAT for that! showing up at a classy event with a rude word on there jackets like that …. ghetto a$$ couple :noway:

20. Damn if you do and damn if you don’t 🙄 If Beyonce had any more energy in her performance tonight, I’m sure people would be complaining about how she tried to steal the spotlight from a great legend, etc., etc.,….

Tina and Beyonce were awesome  I like the shoulder length hair on Beyonce and the blonde/brown streaks. Beyonce is sexy as heck  Tina was amazing and doesn’t look a day over 40 (black don’t crack and she is living proof of that 😆 )

Morris Day is still sexy as hell and The Time with Rihanna was a great performance. Rihanna looked great.

I liked Kanye’s Performance. His speech was rather distasteful and he will soon self-destruct 😐

Aretha looks like she’s losing weight and I applaud her for that. She looked really good

Amy Winehouse is a dang on mess. All of these white young celebrities on drugs, dying from overdoses and suffering from depression reminds me of a comment made by the great Malcom X “the chickens have come home to roost” 🙁

21. Aretha was recently interviewed and said she was making a lifestyle change in order to lose weight. I wish her luck and hope she gets back down to a healthy size.

22. I am loving this year’s Grammy Show. Rihanna was much better than I expected and I thought she did well. Creatively dressed as always and looking good.Beyonce and Tina Turner did well also. I was a little disappointed because I thought they were really going to tear it down, but despite that, I was entertained. Loved Alicia Keys (Both Times, Thank You). As usual, she too is nothing short of pure talent.

I really felt Kanye’s performance and I had no big problem with his speech. That’s Kanye. A little arrogant, no problem with causing a few problems. I guess he felt like saying what he wanted to say, and he did. They cut that music off, too. 😆 People can say he was wrong, but I agree that people are so used to that “Oh No, don’t offend the Grammy people, sit down and smile…” that it’s some big thing when someone doesn’t sit and stay as told. I’m glad to see him win his awards and go against all the terrible rap music that makes it hard for a lot of artists in the same genre to make anything that’s not “Money, Cars, Women” material and succeed. I like it, Keep it coming Kanye.

But to be honest, I am so happy for Amy Winehouse. She is looking healthier, and she seems so genuine that I can’t find it in me to dislike her. She’s the real deal to me, issues and all, and she’s not some fake wannabe musician that’s in it for the gold and Gucci. Her lyrics are real, and her life isn’t perfect, but she does her thing. I think she deserves the attention and respect she gets for her music, and I certainly give her mine. Her reaction to winning was priceless. Don’t you love when people aren’t expecting it? I’ll end my lovely Winehouse rant now. If you can’t tell by now, I’m an Amy Winehouse fan. Get it Girl, and you give them hell.

It’s Winehouse, not Whinehouse, Winehouse! (Humor implied)

I like Kelis, but she just lost a lot of points in my book. Really. That’s not okay, and there is nothing positive about what they’re doing at all. I thought she was a lot smarter than that, and now I can’t look at her as the creative Kelis I like to see. Hm. Maybe in a month I’ll see, but she is so out of the rotation now. And Nas, too. As if I cared about him a lot.

23. i don’t mean to sound stupid butdid ya’ll see Tina? WOW. she looks great. legs and all! but i don’t know if i was the only one that saw that it musta been pretty chilly in the venue….nips were showing.
besides the beyonce and Tina performance, the show sucked balls. nothing worth watching twice.
now alicia keys is cool and so was kanye….looking like a futuristic steve erkel, lol! but other than that nothing good. oh yeah i forgot The Time. awesome. i must admit that when i saw terry lewis out on stage i thought janet was gonna burst out and do “CONTROL” or something but The Time is mad cool.
now what’s this about kanye being arrogant. i don’t exactly remember his speech but all i know is he was talking and then they played the wrap it up music and dude was just getting around to thanking his mother and they kept playing the music. yeah he mighta took long and needed to hurry up but dag yo….let dude clearly speak on his mother then let him get off stage.

whatever though. now for JANET’S ALBUM RELEASE AND GOOD MORNING AMERICA PERFORMANCE……YAY.

oh and NAS is my dude. and Kelis is alright but….WHO THE HELL TOLD THEIR GROWN A-SS TO WEAR THOSE JACKETS WITH THE WORD “NIGRA” ON THERE. THEY SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN THAT. THEY HAVE NO REASON TO PUT THAT OUT THERE. EVERYONE ELSE IS WEARING GOOD CLOTHES AND THEY SHOW UP LOOKING IGNORANT. I DON’T GIVE A HOT DIDDLEY DOO IF NAS’ ALBUM IS CALLED “NIGRA” THEY SHOULDN’T HAVE LEFT THE HOUSE LOOKING THAT WAY. JUST WRONG NAS……DUDE…..I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO THINK OF HIM ANYMORE AND KELIS FOLLOWING HIM.

24. Tina tore it down.
Alicia did her thing, love her.
Kanye, well he’s just being himself.
Nas and Kelis know they are wrong for wearing that mess.

25. Alica (x2), Rihanna and Bey/ Tina performances were all good but :stop: I have 1 question about beyonce’s intro.

How can Beyonce be introducing and paying tribute to decent people, legends, dressed like a cheap hooker? Disrespectful.

26. observer okay????!!!!!!!
and using her own music i know she didnt use deja vu to introduce… u know what? no!

27. sHUT UP U HATERS BEYONCE AN TINA ROCKED IT  AS FOR NAS& KELIS SO DISTASTEFUL YA’LL SHOULD BE ASHAME HE BETTER BE CAREFUL HE LOOSE HIS RECORD DEAL LIKE HIS WIFE DID THOSE JACKETS WERE SO DISTASTEFUL.kANYE IS KANYE PEOPLE IM NOT SURPRISE BY HIS SPEECH, HIS PERFORMANCE WAS SO GOOD.aLICIA KEYS ROCKED IT AN LOOKED SO PRETTY.THE GOSPEL MEDELY WAS GREAT.kEYSHIA COLE LOOKED NICE COMPARE TO HOW SHE DRESSES NORMALLY.BEYONCE IS A TRUE ENTERTAINER LIKE TINA AN THEY WERE A PERFECT 2 BE SELECTED 2 PERFORM TOGETHER GET A LIFE ALL U HATERS BEYONCE LOOKED BEAUTIFUL , HER MAN WAS ONE OF THE BEST DRESSED MAN I LOVE ME SOME JIGGA

28. people stay making excuses for beyonce, but tina tore that ish up!
alicia is my nominee for performer of the night! both times she murdered it and stayed classy!

29. I hope this thread doesn’t go all Beyonce crazy. There were a lot of acts and people in attendance, Beyonce was one of them. I think she did fine to be next to Tina Turner. You can’t beat who you take after, no matter how hard you try. And she didn’t go crazy and try to take over, which I thought would happen. And I just have to quote my grandmother, “Show the them how to start a fire, Tina! Show Bianca how it’s done!” Beyonce is Bianca, and Janet is Janice no matter what anyone says.

I think I forgot to say I how glad I was Alicia won her Grammy. She’ll be taking them up next year for sure. Carrie Underwood was great, as was the Foo Fighters. Cirque De Soleil is beautiful, I want to see it live so bad. I never get the chance, but I watch their shows whenever I can.

30. Beyounce looked a hot mess. That hair and make up made her look so draggish. That weave looked like she scooped it from a bargin bin at the corner wig store. The duo with Tina was ok, but IMO tina stole the show. Then when she dam near knocked tina down at the end I said to myself, there she goes trying to steal somebody else’s thunder. Tina shot her a look and I was crackin up.

Rhi Rhi’s face was flawless but not really feeling those dresses.

Love alicia keys but hated her hair.

Fantasia..no comment

Why or why must Kanye always show his ass. His arrogance is gettin really old.

My favorite moment was the gospel performance…they took that audience to church.

31. Ok, I don’t wanna dis”Respect” the sista cuz she is definitely a legend, but WHY IN THE WORLD WAS ARETHA FRANKLIN WEARING SPAGHETTI STRAPS???? :noway: That was unacceptable. It looked darn right painful!! I know she is trying to get her weight under control, but girl, until then, wear the appropriate attire! I couldn’t even really pay attention to the performance cuz I was scared that strap was gon pop at any moment! I know it was holding on for dear life!!

Ok, I’m done.

32. Tina Turner made me BEAM! I was so proud. I cannot believe how good that woman still looks. Completely amazed. Whatever she, Janet Jackson, and Angela Basset are drinking–they need to bottle it and sell it ASAP.

I enjoy Kanye’s music, but my husband and I were rolling on the floor laughing when they started playing the music over his speech, because everybody knows the TRUTH–which is that they know Kanye is “touched” and liable to say something crazy. They had the music cued in in case they needed to drown him out. After the “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” surprise during Katrina, the industry knows better than to let that boy just stand up there and talk.

As for his arrogance–yes, he is. But what truly talented child protege is not arrogant and a bit quirky. I sort of think Kanye has taken a harder rap regarding his arrogance because he is black. It is not acceptable for black people to be arrogant–not matter how talented they are. Prince took the same beating for years. I’m not mad at him–although I do acknowledge that he is quite strange.

Everyone looked great.

I’m trying not to comment on people negatively but I will say this:

I’m annoyed at the Amy Winehouse attention. She is NOT the “white Lauryn Hill”. She is more like the white “Macy Gray’ and if she were black–she would be considered a joke.

I don’t think Alicia Keys can sing…Sorry. I love that she can play that piano, but her screaming and straining her voice annoys me.

Beyonce is a good performer. I think that is her strength-she puts on a show.

Kanye’s show was fun. I like rock music though so I was into it.

I concur, it was boring as heck and I fast forwarded through most of it. I do love digital cable!

33. I really enjoyed Rihanna, Kanye and Alicia. Most of the performances were good. Beyonce & Tina together were not as strong as I thought they would be. I think two “Strong” spirits together kind of clash. And it looked like Beyonce was kinda stepping on Tina for a minute, like Tina needed her to back up. Any how I like Beyonce’s new wig, its different. I am glad Rihanna won a Grammy, I’m not trying to start anything but her and Jay-z looked cute bickering together. 🙂

34. It was obvious that Beyonce held back. If she would have taken over like she had done with Prince, people would have said she was trying to upstage a legend. And from what I heard, it was Tina that stepped on Beyonce. This chick can’t win for losing.

Everybody looked good. I absolutely loved Alicia Keys’ performance.

35. Good morning everybody did not watch it lol. Im happy rihanni won award. I think everyone look ok. Beyonce look weird to me in the face like she got something done. The way everyone talking about the performance i see tina outstand BEE mmmmmm EAT THE CAKE ANA MAY LOL

36. Toccara’s make-up IZ A HOT MESS! TOOOOO MUCH! :stop: She looks like a drag queen. Alicia Keys did a great job on “NO ONE”! With her non-dancing self… :lol2: Beyonce looked pretty as usual-NEXT! Kelis and Nas… They look sooooo stupid. Anyway, Kanye… I am really sick of him. Very talented brother, but he makes it hard to love him. He act like a baby ole BABY! I understand and have compassion about what happen with his mother. But always got to make a show. Such a turn-OFF! :brownsista:

37. Oh steph, I guess we are all entitled to our own opinions, but I DO like Amy Whinehouse. I know she’s only been out for a little while, but I think she has potential (if she cleans up her act). She has a great voice and her music is something different.

38. Beyonce is a good entertainer and she does remind you of a young Tina Turner at times, but pairing them together did nothing for her. She looked awkward like she should have been one of Mrs. Turner’s background dancers. That was definitely the Tina Turner show.

I loved both Alicia’s performances (classy lady), loved the tribute to the Beatles, loved Josh Groban and Andre (can’t think of his last name) performance, the gospel tribute was great (did Trinity 5-7 think they were going to the club instead of church with those outfits), Rihanna did better than I thought she would and Kanye West’s ego is going to destroy is career.

39. Nas and Kelis annoy me with their ignorant attempts for attention.

The Rihanna- Jay Z incident was awkward, but I think it happened because he wanted her to enjoy the spotlight. He doesn’t seem like the kind of person that wants to be recognized all the time for his accomplishments. Plus he knew that people would start rumors again just based off of him accepting an award with her… Her performance was just OK. I hate the Umbrella song now too.

BEYONCE and TINA had a good performance. I thought it would be a little more powerful though. Everyone keeps saying that Beyonce’s performance wasn’t strong, but I feel like she was respecting Tina and giving Tina the opportunity to sing her own song. It was a collaboration folks. Beyonce did not step on Tina’s foot. It was the other way around, and I really did not sense a battle of Divas on the stage. I just wish that Tina would’ve wore a skirt to show off those legs that everyone loves so much. She’s obviously still in great shape.

Carrie Underwood did good. I love that song Think Before He Cheats. Her voice was on point.

You all know I like Alicia Keys. She looked great even though her hair was a little weird. I feel like she screams a little too much though and she strains her voice.

Kanye West had a wonderful performance, but I really need for him to grow up. His temper tantrums really annoy me and he is too rapped up in winning.

Amy Winehouse is a great songwriter. She definately is dealing with a lot right now, and I hope she gets off of drugs ASAP. I don’t know if she’s worth all of the hype. She’s a little different and whenever there’s a white woman with soul people act like they are the best thing since sliced bread.

40. Why all the Alicia Keys praising, she screamed a Jazz song and she was fake playing the piano!

41. Well I must say my girl Alicia looked stunning last night as she rocked it. So beautiful and as one previous blogger stated she remained classy as usual. I didn`t watch Bey & Tina but I definitely would like to have seen Ms. Tina. Judging from the statements Tina put Bey in her place and once again Bey`s performance had no structure as usual because she`s all over the place. So I guess we can ring that one up for The “Old School”. My not watching their performance was INTENTIONAL because I`ve had enough of Beyonce for awhile!! I`ve made a conscious decision to BOYCOTT her for the next year, if not longer. Talk about OVERKILL!!!

As for Kanye I like his music but I agree sistas in the long run his attitude or arrogance will hurt him. I too was hoping he wouldn`t go over the top but so much for hoping. He`s a talent brotha who`s one helluva lyricist for there`s actually a message in his music, but he continues to overshadow his talent with his arrogance. A true friend should pull him to the side and have a serious conversation with him and advise him to tone it down. Let`s root for him that he`ll discover a little thing called HUMILITY.

42. I think when you have a legend like Tina or anyone who has respectfully been in the game for decades and you pair them with some younger artist makes it weird for them to sing their songs. When the music for Whats Love played it was all about Tina! At the same time I am sure we would not appreciate some young chic whose not even born yet trying to do Beyonce’s Crazy in Love (oh oh oh oh no no no) 30 years from now. As far as the power of the performance lets face it Tina is old as hell, with great grandchildren. What grandma you know can drop it like its hot. Hell I am 27 and I can’t really do it without cracking something.

I must admit I wished they would had allowed Ike Turner’s vocals to play for Proud Mary. I guess once Tina ran out that hotel and into all that traffic she left his ass alone; no looking back

43. I used to wonder if she was really playin the piano sometimes at award shows 😆 However I think she sang the song w/Frank Sinatra well. We all know she doesn’t have the best voice, but it’s tolerable. I also think Rihanna’s voice is tolerable, when I hear her sing it’s not like nails on a chalk board to me. I was hoping Alicia keys woud have performed another song from the album, they played that one out. I’m Glad Beyonce did not perform Deja vu. When I heard the music to it I was like 🙄 Oh lord.

44. Alicia is sometimey. Sometimes she sing perfectly hitting every note and then there are times when she gets too crunk and the notes starts flying. Thats okay because Mary is the same way

45. What’s up, ladies? :brownsista:

I only watched the Grammy for Beyonce/Tina performance. And the fact that Rhianna/Alicia/Kanye were in attendance inspired me even more.

Tina is a living legend! I could feel her energy and spirit through the screen. If she is losing weight to promote a healthier lifestyle, then so be it. But she look awesome to be in her late 60s or early 70s…whichever one. As far as Beyonce, I’m not a die hard fan of hers so please excuse me if my comments don’t correlate with the ‘stans’…lol. Just kidding (don’t want no online drama from the ‘stans’ please…**shaking in my boots** lmao). In my opinion, I liked the 1st half of the performance when she did the “to the left, to the left” move. That was sweet! However, her over 2nd half performance was an ‘overkill’. Her moves did not compliment her duet with Tina at all and that’s why she d@mn near stepped on Tina’s big toe…LMAO!…because she was being too bold and dominant. But ofcourse, she’s a professional so it was down played pretty well. Overall, I thought their duet performance would have been better so I gave it a B-.

Kanye needs to sit his cocky self down! I can really do without this man’s speeches, but his music/beats is off the chain. When he gave his speech last night (and his 2nd performance) I felt as if he was forcing the audience to mourn his mother. I’m sure people naturally feel bad for his loss, but he don’t have to shove it down peoples throat. And that statement he made about Common putting his album out the same year as him…PAH LEASE!! If folks focus more on self/social awareness in their communities and at large, and less on materialism and the surface; then Kanye would have not won – Common would have HANDS DOWN!!

Rhianna’s approach to Jay Z last night was deliberate. That’s all I’ll say about that. But I like her style – and she has a personality to go with it…how about that! 🙂

46. I just seen tina and beyonce performance could of been way better . I think tina should of did the damn thing by herself. Beyonce was lip talking all the black sista names too. I can see from the performance the show was ok so i did not really mess anything. Rihanni performance was real cute. I love me some time they was rocking. Someone tell what happen when rihanni got her award. She was putting on jay-z lol.

47. Beyonce Knowles is no Tina Turner nor is she Diana Ross. Tina Turner made Beyonce Knowles look like an amateur.

48. You’re right. She no Tina Turner or Diana Ross. She’s Beyonce.

49. :dance2: :dance2: Tina and Beyonce killed it! Did anyone catch the interviews at EONLINE where Tina was just singing Beyonce’s praise! She said Beyonce was like a daughter>

50. :stop: BEYONCE WAS HOLDING BACK SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH.
SHE WAS TRYING TO RESPECT TINA, BUT SHE SHOULD OF WENT ALL OUT!!!!!!!!
TINA ASS WAS MOVING TO SLOW BEYONCE WAS LIKE MOVE LADY…DAMN…LOL
[I ALWAYS WRITE IN CAPS IM NOT ANGRY RELAX]…LOL

51.
Tina Turner look like beyonce mother.
:iagree: I said the same thing to my husband last night.

52.
BEYONCE AND TINA KILLED TEHIR PERFORMANCE…BEYONCE SHPWED RESPECT FORHER IDOL.
RIHANNA WAS SO ADORABLE IN HER PERFORMANCE AND SPEECH.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD WAS GREAT

KANYE KILLED IT…HE MADE ME CRY…..

ALICIA AND JOHN MAYER WERE BRILLIANT.

GREAT SHOW

ALSO, I MUST HAVE SEEN A DIFFERENT SHOW CAUSE BEYONCE WAS REALLY GOOD INCLUDING THAT SPECATCULAR OPENING ON THE CHAIR….

THIS SITE JUST HATES HER FOR SOME REASON..SHE SEEMS LIKE A WELL ROUNDED TALENTED FEMALE TO ME.

53. Tina Turner look like beyonce mother.

i was thinking the same thing. I think it’s because Tina Knowles wears the same weave Turner had on last night.

54. TINA COULD HAVE PERFORMED BY HERSELF, TO ME BEYONCE DIDNT ADD ANYTHING SPECIAL BUT GLITTER. IF THIS WAS REHEARSED IT SHOULD HAVE LOOKED MUCH BETTER AND NOT ALL OVER THE PLACE.

55. Beyonce is looking at herself in 20 yrs? Did anyone notice Ms Turner and and ol beyonce really could be related we couldn’t stop noticing some resemblance

56. Watched the entire show. It was okay. Tina Turner and Beyonce’s performance was good, but nothing special. Music awards shows just don’t seem the same anymore. Seem like popularity is winning over actual talent and the real talented singers and artist still get no recognition. And, yes it is sad when you loose someone very close to you, but Kanye West has an ego bigger than the state of Texas and California put together. Glad that Vince Gill dissed Kanye’s ungrateful butt and really glad that Herbie Hancock won for best album.

57. I loooooooved Beyonce and Tina’s performance. I don’t think Tina could keep up, though. Maybe that’s why Beyonce held back so much. Remember when the broke it down at the end, Tina didn’t do it the first two times. And there were other times when Tina either didn’t move so much or just didn’t do the choreography at all, but I still love and respect her so much. She paved the way for artists like Beyonce.

I was a bit skeptical about Beyonce’s new look at first, but now I kind of like it. Everyone was doing the same thing, playing it safe on the red carpet, short hair, black hair, that’s probably why Beyonce went back blonde. I really like Carrie Underwood’s performance, but couldn’t stand Rihanna’s. Seemed like they were trying to recreate Beyonce and Prince’s ’04 performance.

58. I’m browsing through these pictures and they are much more entertaining than I thought they would be. They tried to squeeze Alicia’s breasts into that green dress, and it’s kind of funny. Solange still reminds me of Harry Potter (Not physically, but I imagine they lock her away until she has to come out for occassions…). Brandy looks really, really scary in her picture. I am not kidding. Lil’ Mama and Rihinna look like cousins when they pose together.

Great Pics!

59. TINA N BEYONCE WAS GOOD I LIKE BEYONCE OPENING ACT BETTER WHEN SHE MENTIONS THE LEGENDS ***JANET***.LOL.

TINA DID LOOK LIKE BEYONCE MOTHER WELL BEYONCE MOTHER LOOKS LIKE TINA TURNER.LOL.

WISH JANET PERFORMED THO. OH WELL SHE TAKES OVER TIME SQUARE ON FEB 26TH!!!!!!!! YAY.

60. I don’t want to be a meanie but Tina Turner performed every bit like the 68 year old woman she is. She was great in her day but age has set in. Not taking a thing away from her at all she is a legend and all, but she is old and could hurt herself.

Why was Solange there? She is totally and completely without stage presense and looks like an odd ball. She is also funny shaped and funny looking. Even her walk is dead. I never noticed before how totally boring and dull she is until she walked out on stage. She has no bizness in show bizness. :stop:

61. Thank you Cicily, for your breakdown….I’m what you call venting Cicily that’s all. lol.Ok, where was I? Oh yeah. WHY DID THE TIME HAVE TO PERFORM WITH RIHANNA?! WHY,WHY,WHY?! Man they looked good together didnt they? Even Jessie johnson looked good! Gained a little weight but still looked good. My man Morris, the ultimate cool. No wonder Prince came out there pimping!LOL!!

62. Performances:

Tina/Beyonce, somewhat underwhelming, but on the whole how awesome to #1 – see Tina perform again and #2 – see Beyonce with one of her idols. :brownsista:

Alicia/John Mayer, mad as hell they didn’t perform “Lesson Learned”, but still, John’s presence made it more than just another performance of “No One”. I like that she sung it in a lower register and her backup singers were most definitely ON POINT :brownsista:

Fergie/John Legend, why Jesus, why? How come Johnnie boy didn’t perform his “Slow Dance” song? I’d rather have listened to him. :brownsista:

Herbie/Ling, awesome. Herbie deserves some serious shine although I must say I was surprised he won for best album! :brownsista:

Rihanna/The Time, AWESOME. Morris Day, Jerome, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis….and Prince (in the building at least if not on stage with them) was AWESOME. Rihanna, congrats to her on her win. She and JayZ were cute, joking about as they were. :brownsista:

Kanye, the BEST PERFORMANCE of the night! But it was completely SHAT upon when he accepted his award.

Nas/Kelis, what in the HOT HELL is wrong with them? Coonery! Tomfoolery! SIT DOWN with that mess!

:bag:

63. Forgot to mention that I thoroughly enjoyed Groban/Bocelli. Awesome tribute to Pavarotti. Hell, I even liked the Foo Fighters only because Dave Grohl is CRAZY-looking…..and a bit sexy, I think.

:bag:

And so is John Mayer.

:bag:

*runs*

Sorry just now posting my comments on this. I’ve been out of sync for the past couple of days. Hope everyone is well! :brownsista:

64. Sistas,
Why are debating who is better? When these are the facts.
Tina is a legend. So is Aretha. So to compare them with anyone is meaningless.
They set the standard for all of these performers today. A hundred years from now they will be talked about as legends, trendsetters, those that changed the game. Everyone that followed: Janet, MJB, Alicia, Beyonce, are just that…followers. Not to undermine their relevance cause what they do is important. Because it keeps what Tina and Aretha started alive and fresh for a new generation. Comparisons will always be made, especially between the older star (Tina) and the younger (Beyonce) and now Beyonce to Rihanna, in a couple of years someone will compare Rihanna with somebody. But there is only one Queen and we all know that’s Tina.

Tina did show some signs of aging during her performance, but she is still a great inspiration!

I miss the artistry in music, when artist just made great music and expressed themselves the way they wanted. Now it’s about selling yourself to the masses for the almighty dollar and few artist seem to be genuine about what do. Bring back real music, real artistry, and authentic artist.

Kanye, I love him, yeah he’s arrogant. I love it cause he does and says things that secretly others want to do but don’t have the courage to. He is wrong on occasion, of course! But he always stays true to who he is, what you see is what you get and I respect that. Remember people said the same thing about Miles Davis and Prince, two of the greatest artist ever. They didn’t care cause they stayed true to the music and most importantly themselves.

65. Wow to everyone

Bee and A Keyes are to die for….Just BEAUTIFUL!!!! BEE Killin’em. A. Keyes just stunning!

Nas and kelis……Ashamed! SADDDDDD! Embarressing!

66. tina and bee’s performance was amazing. In my country, Ghana, we lead you ,America, by six hours so I had to watch it like 2:00 in the morning. It was worth it though. Loved Alicia ‘s performance too. And I see voice posting again, you’re ridiculous. The very first thing you could say when you saw fantasia, keyshia cole and the ANTM chick was to hate on beyonce, not even comment about who you liked first? Get help, QUICKLY

67. Just found out that beyonce is on the cover of the new york post which covered the grammys. Funny, she didn’t even win one last night, yet she makes the cover. The power of bee, people, the power of bee
