Brown Sista Prime Time Emmy Nominations

A Raisin In The Sun Cast Nominations for the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced yesterday by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and several Brown Sistas are up for huge awards. The made for TV adaptation of “A Raisin In The” Sun was nominated for Oustanding Made For Television Movie and both stars of the film, Phylicia Rashad and Audra McDonald, were nominated for their respective roles. Phylicia received a Best Actress nod while Audra received a Best Supporting Actress nod for her role. Also nominated for supporting roles are Vanessa L. Williams for her work on the hit series “Ugly Betty”, Chandra Wilson for her role in “Grey’s Anatomy”, and Alfre Woodard for her work on the mini-series “Pictures Of Hollis Woods”.

Diddy, who helped produce A Raisin In The Sun and also stars in the film, is also nominated for an Emmy. As producer he will walk away with the award should the movie win for Oustanding Made For TV Movie.

  1. When “A Raisin In The Sun” came out on the TV, I made sure to watch it. Excellent! Diddy, Sanaa Lathan, Phylicia Rashad, all of them, did an outstanding job of acting. I hope they all win an Emmy.

  3. As long as they didn’t nominate Diddy; then I’m cool. The brother is an entreprenuer with sick business acumen; but thespian he is not.
