Record executive LA Reid held his annual Summer of Love Bash in the Hamptons over the weekend and singers Mary J. Blige and Ciara were just a few of the Brown Sistas who made an appearance. Ciara, pictured to your right with rapper LL Cool J, showed up looking slightly better than she did in her last public outing. As I expected, the Crunk n’ B diva is now battling allegations that she is suffering from an eating disorder. Ciara has become increasingly more fit over the last year but her drastic weight loss after announcing her intentions of seeking a career in modeling, has many thinking she has gone overboard in her quest to attain the perfect model-like physique.Ciara hasn’t responded to the allegations and probably won’t until she goes into full publicity mode for her new album. Whatever the case, I thought she was perfect just the way she was when she came on the scene.

Mary J. Blige, Star Jones and Gayle King also attended the Summer Of Love party. And if it wasn’t for Gayle showing up in all white I would have thought there was some sort of dress code that mandated that all the women show up wearing multi-colored-multi-patterned dresses (lol).
Ciara was fine when she came out and was fine when her last cd was released. Ciara had a gorgeous figure. Why she would give that up to look so gaunt and emaciated is anyone’s guess. She’s not gonna be the next Naomi, so why do that to herself? I knew when I saw her after the BET Awards people would say she was anorexic because she looks it. Ain’t nothing finer than a woman with a full shapely figure and Ciara done lost hers.
I DO believe Ciara is developing an eating disorder. I agree she looked fine the way she was from the begining. I used to be a fan of hears, but after I read of few interviews, I quickly learned that she is very conceited, not to mention a bit arrogant and demanding.
Anyway, is it me or does Gayle look like Kelly Rowland?
Something looks weird with Star Jones. She needs to put on some more weight. I like Ciara’s dress, but I hope she is not harming herself to be thin for modeling.
I get so excited when I see events like this and so many of our “brown” sistas are in full attendance. This is what inspires me to comment on these blogs these days. As for the appearance of Ciara, I know what thing for sure, stress is a muthaf*cka, and if you are going through it – it will show in your weight. So, if that’s the case for her, then I hope and pray that things work out for her. Other than that, her losing weight was probably a business move and there are a lot of stars who do that when they are about to film a new movie or something, so she is no different. I just wish that people would be as critical of other “certain” artists as they are of the rest.

I really do not understand Ciara’s motivation. Is she expecting to be the next Tyra, because I highly doubt that is going to happen. Ciara is a singer first and foremost and she shouldn’t forget that. A modeling career is not in her future so she shouldn’t lose all the things about herself that her fans love so much and that includes her once fabulous and curvy figure.
Ciara has been on the fitness tip for a long time now. Remember last year when her calves were all the talk of the blogsphere? She has taken it a step further now and maybe a step too far. She seems abnormally thin now and so not herself. She looks tired and very gaunt. I just hope she is healthy and nost starving herself to achieve this new look.
Before we start accusing her of having an eating disorder, let’s give her the benefit of the doubt. She is no longer just a singer. She is now a model and an actress. She could have dropped the pounds for a movie role. We also shouldn’t rule out stress as a contributing factor. I just hope that she’s healthy and not starving herself because of problems with her self-image. It seems like she can’t win. I STIIL think she looks beautiful even though she’s smaller. I prefer her look when she’s a little heavier, but when she was larger everyone complained about her muscular shape. They spread rumors that she was a man, and made fun of her small bust. She supposedly got breast implants, and everyone called her “plastic”.
It’s unfortunate that as talented as she is, she’s falling victim to self-esteem issues. No matter what, she’ll never be able to please everyone. She is still pretty to me.
