Brown Sistas At The 2008 BET Awards

As I type this the 2008 BET Awards are in full effect and so is the Black female star power. As expected all of Black Hollywood is in the house tonight and that includes singers Keyshia Cole and Rihanna, who are both due to perform, as well Beyonce’s lil sis Solange, who celebrated her 22nd birthday last night.
Other brown sistas in the house include Lil Mama, Niecy Nash and Kerri Hilson.
Rapper Lil Kim, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson were also spotted walking the red carpet.
Toccara, Gabrielle Union and Lauren London were also in attendance.

It was the most interesting moment so far to me. She had the most energy even though her performance was not perfect. She did look hot in her white shorts and thigh high boots.

Beyonce does not make or break an award show. The show is terrible because the talent that they promote is getting worst and worst. How could Ledisi and Chrisette Michelle sit in the audience and not be up there performing on that stage. Eric Benet has a great cd out right now, but, do you think BET play it. BET was created because there were so many talented artisist that were not getting their just do. And, also, MTV and VH1 wouldn’t play but a handful of black people on their stations. But now BET is just MTV. They play the exact same people over and over. Don’t be fooled to think that a show can’t be good without Beyonce. She is a good performer I won’t take that away but she can be a bit boring herself after awhile. They all have the exact same act that’s the problem. The only thing I can say to those comments are kudos. I love EnVogue and they still look good and those voices will never leave.

He was with Zhane remember them they were great too. I miss the music from the 80’s & 90’s, because they had somethig for everyone. Now they just have this hip-hop and it showed last nite they make extremely boring performers.

I saw pictures of what Ashanti wore on another site and she looked great!

Usher killed his performance! It was the best show of the night. Keyshia Cole was just o.k, Rihanna rocked, Chris Brown was 2sexy…it was great to see all of our r&b divas reunite momentarily. I cried when I saw SWV
T-Boz sounded awful..they shouldn’t have made her sing, she wasn’t ready. Jill Scott looked great. Al Green was a little strange as was T-Pain. Lil’ Wayne–eh. Neicy Nash was hilarious…ok, did I miss anybody?

Uhhh, no, they weren’t! There were only 3 good ones, Alicia’s, Usher’s, and Chris & Ciara. No one came with their “A” game.
It’s funny because everyone seems like they had so much energy, yet lacked in the voice department, because Keyshia was shakey, Usher lip-synched, who knows what T-Pain does, and I could hardly here Ciara when she performed with Nelly.

Rihanna is on another level.She will no be boxed in to any standard…That is what’s hot. Keyshia could have performed better but she was nervous.Lil weezy was great but he should have had more time…may be 5-7 min. T-pain was hyped his outfit was funny. The overall audiance was to underdressed they need to step it up…really.Puffy,neo,and some other looked how they are supposed to. You will never catch puff in anything less. Cassy..is she ill and she looked out of place.Puff had to bring his chic…Chris brezzy….whoa….no words Rihanna is getting killed in the bedroom….lol.Ciara…girl your momma is nervous….they killed it. I agree. I saw Maxwell in concert around this time, too. I think it was during his Embrya record. It was a small venue and let me tell you, the man is MAGICAL on stage! Awesome, awesome, awesome! So beautiful, so talented. Such a talented writer! His lyrics are like good home cookin’. The man is absolutely beautiful. On his myspace page, he has a song snippet called: “Pretty Wings” and it is beautiful! Can I just say beautiful again?
