Brown Sistas Do “Vevo”

Ciara, Corinne Bailey Rae, Mariah Carey, and Rihanna were just a few of the celebrities that turned out last night for the launch of Vevo- a new music video portal created by Google and Universal Music Group. Mariah’s new video for her single “Hate U” is rumored to be premiering on the site either today or tomorrow. Likewise, artists like Rihanna, Wyclef Jean and others will also see their videos hit Vevo first.

And speaking of Rihanna- the pop diva got another tattoo earlier this week which more than likely is aimed at those who say her new album is a failure. According to Ok! Magazine the pop diva stopped by East Side Ink tattoo parlor at around 2am and requested the phrase “Never a failure, always a lesson” be etched on her chest backwards.

Early projections have the singer’s latest album (Rated R) taking a huge dive on the charts- falling from #4 to #18, The album had a 70% drop in sales despite it being the Christmas season and many venues selling it at a discount (less than $10).

Despite the poor sales however, Rihanna is keeping it moving- and is planning a mini tour at the start of 2010 that will see her trek all across Europe and Asia.
