Brown Sista’s Hot 100
So as they do every year, Maxim magazine has released their list of the 100 hottest women in Hollywood. Of this 100 exactly 6 of them are Black or at least part Black. Ciara came in at #72 followed by Gabrielle Union at #67, Jessica White at #60, Halle Berry at #55, Beyonce at #13 and Rihanna made the top ten by coming in at #8. Now because only 6 of the women were of color, some people have started to complain. We here at Brown Sista however aren’t the least bit concerned with the lack of color on this list because hey- look at the source. Plus, can you really take a magazine seriously that thinks Lindsay Lohan is prettier than any of the above women, or even Jessica Alba who came in at #2 ?
So rather than complain about the lack of color on the list, I say more Black publications and websites should put together their own list. We cannot expect to be fully included in publications that are not aimed at us so why get mad when they overlook us or simply throw us a few bones?
Plus, as much as I support many of the women on the list, they are but the biggest names in mainstream White America and Jessica White only made the list because she was in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue this year. I doubt many people of any race really know who she is.
Anyway to get the ball rolling, I will post my Top 10 List of Hottest Sistas In Hollywood.

One yes I’m a Beyonce Fan. Do I think she’s accepted because she’s a lighter shade maybe, maybe not. I’m just saying WHO CARES. It’s up to US to stop even thinking that way. IT’s a sad way to think. I honestly don’t think Beyonce is that light skin (but that’s my opinion). Alicia Keyes is very light, Christina Milian is very light. Bee isn’t that light. . The sad part is they use the word preference as an excuse to carry this vicious disease on. According to Merriam Webster, “preference means to put or set forward or before someone recommend. Recommend means to present as worthy of acceptance or trial.” Like I was explaining people use words and can’t or don’t know the meaning and then turn around and say they are not discriminating. It’s called ignorance just coming along to get along. So my question again is no one is better than anyone to carry that title. Oprah Winfrey is one of my most favorite people if you stated that you were not a fan I would not get upset, immediately defend, or call anyone names. But were the issue comes in a lot of Beyonce fans do that and it’s not right. Her stans think that she is more then everyone including themselves. Most of her fans tend to be quiet delusional and irrational. Trust me honey you are delusional and living in a fake world to think that if Beyonce was 10 shades darker they would still give her the same glory. I can feel your frustration because you are light skinned however no on ever stated that was your means of getting by. You should not even be addressing this issue because you are already taking it personal. What ever happened to Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech, “I have a dream that one day we will be judged by the content of our character rather than the color of our skin?” I wish that day was here but it has not come and especially in the black community itself. A lot of people are starting to see Beyonce for whom she really is which is a gimmick that’s why they don’t like her. So my question to you is why did a lot of people hate a beautiful brown skin sister like Whitney Houston (before they found out about the drug addiction)? Whitney who is someone that Beyonce can not hold a candle to when it comes to talent. Answer that question ignorant one.
