First Look: Season 4 of ‘Being Mary Jane’
Gabrielle Union’s popular BET drama, Being Mary Jane, is set to return for its fourth season this coming January. The show has undergone a number of key changes since its season three finale, including the loss of creator and showrunner Mara Brock Akil. Mara abruptly left the show last season and has since signed a multi-year deal to create shows for Warner Brothers Television.
Actress Gabrielle Union has a lot to smile about these days. The 43-year old Being Mary Jane star has just had her show renewed by BET for a fourth season. Gabrielle and BET programming director Stephen Hill announced the news early this afternoon at the network’s 2016 Winter TCA Tour.
The show’s renewal was actually up in the air after creator and showrunner Mara Brock Akil abruptly left at the end of season three to join Warner Brothers Televison.
The highly anticipated third season of Being Mary Jane kicks off tonight on BET.
The show will immediately pick up where we left off in the season two finale, with Mary Jane having been in a serious car accident.
Friends and family will rally around her bedside, and with emotions running high, all sorts of secrets start to be revealed.
