Actress Halle Berry was spotted getting in some mother-daughter bonding time over the Labor Day Weekend with daughter Nahla Ariele Aubry. The pair was seen visiting the Los Angeles Zoo with Halle’s mother, Judith Hawkins. Rarely seen with a bodyguard, Halle chose to bring one along on her trip as well, most likely to keep the paparazzi from getting too excited about finally getting clear pics of the 5 month old, who has been kept under wraps since her birth back in late March. Two thirds of Destiny’s Child plus one sister, were back together again as Beyonce and Mama Tina showed up to the J&R Music Festival to show their support for Michelle Williams and Solange Knowles, who were both making their solo debuts at the event. Held in City Hall Park, the festival attracted a large crowd of about 5,000 people, who also showed up to see Terrence Howard and festival veteran, Lyfe Jennings, perform as well. Beyonce kept a low profile as her sister and fellow bandmate rocked the New York City crowd and most of the financial district. Anyone who has been to this festival knows the coolest place to watch is actually from the office buildings windows, which are usually crowded with people sneaking away from their cubicles to get a glance at the musicians performing.

Singer Rihanna is the latest artist to be added to the growing lineup of talent set to perform at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. The diva’s latest two singles, Take A Bow and Disturbia, are both riding high in the top ten, with Disturbia topping the charts at #1 and Take A Bow sitting pretty at #8. Rihanna is set to perform Disturbia live for the first time at the VMA show on September 7th and flew back into the country just yesterday to start hehearsals. The singer was spotted doing her usual shopping with her entourage in West Hollywood. And proving just how powerful the internet and bloggers are in general, an obviously fake story that has been floating around all week about the singer being broke is now making national and international news. To my surprise MTV UK and many other reputable sites, including those in the singer’s own country, are reporting the story as true and linking back to gossip blogs as their source.

As previously reportedly earlier this week, some of music’s biggest female singers have come together to record a song in support of cancer research. “Just Stand Up”, features vocals from singers Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Beyonce, Keyshia Cole, and many others. The single will officially hit radio and be available for download on iTunes September 2nd, however a leak of the single has made it’s way to the internet and can be heard here. All the ladies who participated in the making of this single will also come together September 5th to perform the song live during the “Stand Up To Cancer” TV special, set to air simultaneously on ABC, CBS and NBC.

One of my favorite actresses, Vivica A. Fox, was spotted in Hollywood today doing a bit of shopping at H. Lorenzo’s on Sunset Boulevard. The actress is prepping her new VH-1 reality show, Glam God with Vivica Fox. The premise is that 12 contestants will be asked to compete in challenges that will test their knowledge of fashion and style trends as they create the perfect look from head to toe. Those who fall short of creating that perfect look will have their style license revoked (At least that’s how VH1 puts it.). The winner will walk away with $100,000 and the chance to style a celebrity for a major Hollywood event, as well as photo spread in US Weekly Magazine. Glam God premieres tomorrow (August 21) at 10 p.m. on VH1.

The relationship between LisaRaye McCoy-Misick and her estranged husband, The Premiere of the Turks & Caicos island, Michael Misick, has taken another bizarre turn. The actress, who was arrested for assault over the weekend along with her husband, has released photos to Essence Magazine that show her battered and bruised after the altercation with The Premiere. As you all well know, LisaRaye claims that after she entered the home that she and her husband shared on the Turks & Caicos island, her husband attempted to remove her- by any remains necessary, leading her to be airlifted to a hospital and treated for her injuries. And though she was later released the same night, it appears, at least in the photos, The Premiere’s handy work was still quite visible.

The UK’s hottest export, Estelle , has debuted her latest video in support of her single Pretty Please, which features Cee-Lo of Gnarls Barkley. The video was shot by director Zipper On Butterfly Leather and features a cameo by actress Taraji P. Henson and actor Jackie Long.

Actress and First Lady of the island of Turks & Caicos, Lisa Raye McCoy-Misick, was spotted arriving back in the US last night after a rather tumultuous trip to the island that ended with both her and her husband being arrested for assault. The actress, probably best known for her role as Diamond in Ice Cube’s 1998 movie The Player’s Club, and most recently the CW comedy, All Of Us, spoke to the press before leaving the small island and stated unequivocally her intended plans to come back and live in the place she has called home for the past few years. The First Lady also spoke of her desire to continue to play a role in helping the economy of the island which has seen a boost since the American actress started appearing in brochures and bringing in her Hollywood friends to invest (Will & Jada Pinkett Smith, Duane Martin & Tisha Campbell-Martin).
