Toni Braxton Writes Her Memoirs

Remember back in August when Tamar Braxton told the world she and husband Vince were working on a book together?

Well, it looks like Tamar was once again following in big sister Toni’s footsteps.

Word on the curb, and Amazon, is that Toni has finished a book herself- a memoir titled Unbreak My Heart: A Memoir.

The book is due to hit store shelves and Kindles all across the country when it is released on February 11, 2014.

I believe the date will just about coincide with the second half of season 4’s Braxton Family Values.

To date Toni has not mentioned the book, and evaded all questions thrown at her about it via social media.

However, with a new album and reality show to promote in the coming weeks, I’m sure Toni will be more forthcoming with her fans.

Tamar Braxton’s New Xmas Album

Singer Mary J. Blige isn’t the only R&B diva planning on releasing a Christmas album this year. Tamar Braxton officially threw her hat in the ring a few weeks ago and has just unveiled the cover and title for her new project.

With a release date of November 11th, Tamar’s Winter Loverland will arrive just in time for the Christmas buying season, which officially kicks off on Black Friday.

Winter Loverland is currently available for pre-order via Amazon and will feature Christmas classics like Santa Baby, Silent Night, plus original tunes She Can Have You and No Gift.

Sounds like Tamar’s offering may have a little sass to it.

Can’t wait.

New BFV Trailer

My favorite family TV reality series is almost ready to make its return.

The third season of Braxton Family Values is due to return in November and WeTV promises it will be the most exciting to date.

Toni is officially un-retired. Tamar is learning to balance motherhood and work. Trina is still contemplating divorcing Gabe. Towanda is celebrating turning 40 by taking it all off and poor Traci is just learning that her husband may have fathered a child she knew nothing about.

All that and more is featured in the newly released clip below.

Check it out.

Kerry Washington Covers Essence

With her hit show Scandal set to return to the airwaves tonight, what better time could there be for actress Kerry Washington to cover Essence magazine?

Kerry is gracing the November edition and looking super sultry in the process. I must give it to Miss Kerry, she really brought her a-game with this one.

Kerry’s cover was styled by June Ambrose, who decked her out in a gold Rafael Cennamo dress and if you look closely, you’ll see the gold-tipped nails to match.

Ambrose tweeted about the cover earlier today, saying she wanted to give Kerry a look she knew her famous character Olivia Pope would never go for.

The November issue is on newsstands now; don’t forget to pick up your copy.

A Day in the Life of Miss Kelly

Singer Kelly Rowland teamed up with Creative Director Joe Zee to break down twenty-four hours of her fashionable life for the October issue of Elle magazine. From catching the red-eye at 5am to walking the red carpet at 5pm, Kelly shows you how she stays fashion forward no matter the time or occasion.

For those of you more interested in Kelly’s singing than fashion sense, you still have a chance to catch her live when she heads back out on the road this weekend.

Kelly is scheduled to play the State Fair at Texas Fairground on Saturday, the Houston Arena Theatre on Sunday, Downtown Airpark in Oklahoma City on October 18th, The Scope in Norfolk, Virginia on November 1st and the Greensboro Coliseum Complex in Greensboro, North Carolina on November 2nd.

Toni Braxton Plans Tour Surprise

Singer Toni Braxton used her Instagram account over the weekend to unveil another promo shot from her upcoming duets album with longtime collaborator Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmomds.

The project, tentatively titled Love, Marriage, Divorce, is expected to be released December 3rd and features the new Adult Contemporary smash Hurt You.

Toni recently wrapped up the first leg of her theatre tour and is expected to announce new dates in the coming weeks, include several oversees in the Canada, Germany and the U.K.

During a Grammy Q&A session over the weekend, Toni talked about touring again; saying future dates will include quite a few surprises. When pressed for details, Toni admitted her sisters, including Tamar, may join her for a few “special performances.”

Rihanna’s Full Glamour Shoot

Rihanna’s Glamour magazine cover shoot, lensed back in August while the singer visited her home country of Barbados for the annual Koodament Day Parade, officially hit newsstands across the country today.

I picked up my digital copy via the Play Store, and surprisingly, Rihanna’s accompanying interview manages to touch on several topics I’ve never heard the singer talk about before.

Check the excerpts below to find out who Rihanna’s style icons are. Whether she ever regrets sharing so much of herself online. The difference between Robyn and Rihanna, and much more.

Though she refuses to call ‘Rihanna’ her alter-ego, the singer does say there is a difference between who Robyn is and who Rihanna is: When people call me Robyn, my head just flies around because I feel like that person knows me. But Rihanna, that tends to be people’s own creation. Robyn is who I am. Rihanna- that’s an idea of who I am.

Rihanna on dealing with the oodles of bad press she gets for her out of control image: Well, I can’t run from it. You can’t change who you are. It’s important for me to know who I am and work with that. They’re gonna keep knocking away at this until it all comes crashing down. But I’m not gonna ever crash. I’m in control.

Rihanna on coming up with the idea for her Styled to Rock reality fashion competition: I felt like there were all these talented people in New York who had a very keen eye for style and design, but I couldn’t find them to work with. I get excited by discovering new designers. I’m obsessed with being first with everything in fashion.

Rihanna on her style icons: I love Nicole Richie. She just pisses me off, she’s so good. But you know who is the best who ever did it? Princess Diana. She was like- she killed it. Every look was right. She was gangsta with her clothes. She had these crazy hats. She got oversize jackets. I loved everything she wore.

Jennifer Hudson Spoofs Scandal

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson does her best Olivia Pope impersonation for a just released Funny or Die clip that touts the benefits of President Obama’s signature piece of legislation, the Affordable Care Act.

The parody shows Hudson looking to fix a number of scandals, only to realize they are simple matters that can easily be fixed via the ACA, which officially becomes available to all Americans today.

The clip was paid for and produced by a small group of Hollywood entertainers who support the President and his healthcare initiative. Hudson, along with Alicia Keys, Amy Poehler and Oprah Winfrey, have all thrown their support behind ACA and plan to launch future celebrity PSAs to attract the nation’s growing segment of young people who have no healthcare.
