As many of you know, Janet Jackson has been laying low since she had a pneumonia scare a few weeks ago. However after getting a clean bill of health from her doctor and attending the Kids Choice Awards, Janet let her fans know she would once again resume promotion of her “Discipline” CD, and that promotion includes stops overseas and naturally Japan, the biggest music market in the world, was one of her first stops. Dressed in all black and flanked by her super-fine and longtime bodyguard, Joey, Janet was seen departing LAX and eventually landing at the Narita International Airport in Narita Chiba, Japan. Janet will be on a three day promotional tour in Japan before reportedly heading off to Germany and eventually Canada and the UK. Finally, Janet will be back in the US later in the month to receive an honor from GLADD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation).

So what’s new with singer-actress Janet Jackson these days? Not much it seems. After coming down with bronchitis a few weeks ago, Janet seems to keeping a somewhat low profile. Janet did appear at the 2008 Kids Choice Awards last week but said she would still be taking it easy for the next few weeks. Janet laying low however does not mean her name is completely out of the headlines. Whitney’s Houston ex-husband, Bobby Brown, is coming out with a new tell all and mentions none other than Miss Jackson herself. Bobby claims in his tell all “Being Bobby Brown: The Truth and Nothing But …” that during the mid 80’s he and Janet were an item but broke up because her parents didn’t want her with a Black man. Bobby goes on to claim that the break up with Janet led him to hit the bottle- hard.

Island Def Jam this evening released onto the internet what they are calling an official remix of “Feedback” that features Busta Rhymes, Ciara and Fabolous. Previously, both Ciara and Busta Rhymes released their own unofficial remixes of the song onto the internet. Janet confirmed in an interview with MTV.com last month that Ciara’s remix was unofficial and something Ciara did on her own. Busta released his unofficial remix onto the internet shortly thereafter.

Singer Janet Jackson graces the April 2008 edition of BlackBook Magazine- and what a stunning cover it is. Janet is pictured all caged up in a Mathew Rolston photo shoot that is not only provocative, but a little bit scary. I love the cover- but one has to wonder what Mathew was thinking of when he had Janet don that head gear for the second pic.

After a 30+ year career in the entertainment industry and a 20+ year career on top of the music charts- Janet Jackson shows no signs of giving up her position. Hits Daily Double guesstimates that Janet’s new CD, “Discipline” sold about 180,000 copies- enough to put it in the #1 position on this week’s Billboard chart. Janet didn’t start promoting her new CD until last week when she performed on Good Morning America and MTV’s TRL, which makes her sales even more impressive. Look for Janet to keep up the heavy promoting this week as well. Janet appeared on the Tyra Banks show earlier today and is scheduled to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live later on tonight.

Okay, I know the title of this post is totally inappropriate, but it was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw these pics of Tyra and Janet together. Tyra is known for touching her guests in a special way and it appears she was touching the hell outta Janet in these pics (lol). But seriously, I think Janet was showing Tyra some of her moves and well Tyra then tried to show Janet some of hers. Okay, I need to stop. But for real for real this time. A Janet fan who attended the taping said Janet was trying to teach Tyra some moves from the Feedback video and they fell. Still, Tyra does seem to be enjoying the fall just a little too much. As for Janet- she’s looking absolutely amazing in these pics and I love her new glammed up look. It’s a vast improvement from the tomboy-ish boy look she sported earlier this week on GMA and TRL.

Well this is it- the last post of “Discipline Day”. I have decided to close things out with more pics from Janet’s photo shoot with photographers Chuando and Frey. I am just giddy with all the Janet-ness that has gone down today. From the GMA performance to the TRL performance (which I will post about soon), Janet fans are just beside themselves with happiness- and I am one of those fans. Though I didn’t dare go out into the cold and rain to see my girl perform live, I did stay glued to my television and computer all day just so I wouldn’t miss anything- and I am glad I did because I just so happen to have run across this fabulous green-eyed photo of Janet on the April cover of Ebony Magazine. Ebony asks if Janet still has it- but I think that question has been answered resoundingly with the two performances she gave today. The 42 year old singer is as smooth and graceful on the stage as she was 20 years ago and without a doubt her detractors have been silenced. Expect all this Janet hoopla to boost sales and check back with us tomorrow as Hits Daily Double will be the first to post Janet’s first day sales and Brown Sista will fa damn sho be the second (lol).
