Singer Keyshia Cole is moving ahead with the promotion of her latest CD, “Calling All Hearts.” Despite less than stellar sales, the 29 year old R n’ B diva and her record label, Geffen, have started production on two new videos, including one for her next single, “Take Me Away.” Keyshia tweeted a photo from the set, saying the shoot “felt good” and that it was her first time ever smiling throughout an entire video.
Check out this gorgeous pic of an absolutely beautiful Keyshia Cole spending the day at the mall with her son Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr. The singer revealed the pic herself via her Twitter page, making this the first ever photo of her son posted online.
The public was apparently so turned off by Kelly Rowland naming her new album “Kelly Rowland,” that the singer decided to scrap the title and instead enlist the help of her fans in choosing a name. Fellow r n’ b diva Keyshia Cole however doesn’t appear to be having the same problem, as news of her titling her new CD “Keyshia” doesn’t seem to be causing the same kind of uproar. Speaking to Hip Hop Diva recently about the recording process, Cole said “It feels great. I worked hard to get to where I am today and have matured greatly in between my albums- which was proven on my last album A Different Me– so I just give blessings to God for what he has given me.” Keyshia’s A Different Me topped the R n’ B charts when it was released back in 2008, selling 322,000 in its opening week and marking the singer’s biggest debut ever. Keyshia says she hopes to duplicate that success and is said to be working with producers like Donald Alfaro and Darkchild in order to make that happen.
Look for “Keyshia” to drop around November 2010 with the first single to possibly be released in October.
Two new tracks said to be possible singles from Keyshia Cole’s upcoming album have surfaced. Keyshia Web says the singles are new and not previously recorded- but you never know. Neither track has been heard before so in that respect they are somewhat new. The first is titled “Love Somebody” and features Leviti. The second track, my personal favorite, is titled “Only With You” and is said to be produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins.
Both singles can be heard below…
Keyshia Cole has caused quite a stir on blogs in the past few months by keeping mum while pictures of her sporting a growing baby bump appeared online. The singer, however, confirmed earlier today both her pregnancy by basketball player Daniel Gibson and her upcoming marriage to him in a statement that also included scathing remarks about her relationship with her estranged family. Keyshia’s mother, Frankie Lons, recently told Atlanta radio station V100 that Keyshia was already married and did so to avoid having her child be born out of wedlock. In her statement, Keyshia announced she was no longer is in communication with her mother or her sisters, Neffie and Elite.

“To all my friends and fans, it’s time that I clear the air,” Cole explained. “It’s not a secret that I haven’t been in contact with my mother Frankie, and my sisters Neffe and Elite and I never wanted to air out our differences to the public. While I won’t go into detail here I find it necessary to let you guys know I decided to stop communication with them because I was at a point in my life where I needed serenity and peace to move forward. Please know I love my family very much but it was time to let it go. You guys are a witness to a lot of what was happening from watching on air and online. Now that I am becoming a mom my passion for having a loving and peaceful home for my child is my #1 priority.”
Keyshia didn’t directly address her mother’s interview in the statement, but she did identify “constant false reports” that are interfering with her life, which includes her attempting to balance planning a wedding, preparing for the birth of her child, and finishing a forthcoming album. Cole characterized the stress as being unhealthy and emphatically said there are “only a few people that can official confirm or deny anything that’s happening in my life.” That list was limited to herself, Gibson and the singer’s publicist, along with fellow singer and close friend Monica — she concluded her statement by saying, “My girl Monica never lies.”
Singer Keyshia Cole is reportedly engaged and before she could wipe the tears from her eyes the news had hit Twitter. Keyshia’s good friend and fellow R n’ B singer, Monica, broke the news and shortly thereafter was backed up by two of Daniel’s relatives who also tweeted the engagement. Monica also let the cat outta the bag- telling the public that Keyshia and Daniel [Gibson] would be expecting a baby boy in the coming weeks.
Details of the engagement are sketchy, but rumor has it Daniel popped the question with a 10 carat diamond worth around $800,000 dollars (yeah, right). Whatever the case, we wish Daniel and Keyshia all the best.
So, it appears Keyshia Cole really is pregnant. The R n’ B diva was spotted passing out turkeys with her boyfriend, Daniel Gibson, at the Bethany Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio last week. Photos of the singer posted online appeared to show her with a slight belly bump- however, newly released NBA footage shows the singer to have quite a bit more than that. Keyshia appears to be a full 6 or 7 months and is carrying pretty “low.”
Rumors of the singer being pregnant had been running rampant online every since the summer- but with Keyshia laying low- rumors were pretty much all we had.
Keyshia completing and releasing a new album in the first quarter of 2010- as previously reported- will probably not happen now. However, you never know.
Congrats to Keyshia and Daniel.
Singer Keyshia Cole along with actresses Raven Symone and Taraji P. Henson have teamed up with Pepsi to promote Pepsi We Inspire.com, a website that pays tribute to Black mothers. Keyshia shares her story of why both her adoptive mom and biological mom inspire her. The singer also talks openly about her boyfriend, Daniel Gibson, with whom she says she shares an “unbreakable bond.”
The Scottish Sunday Mail is reporting that Janet Jackson has been invited by producers to appear and perform at next months MOBO Awards, during a tribute to Michael Jackson.
“Janet is a music icon in her own right and a previous MOBO presenter,” a spokesman for the awards said. “We loved her past involvement with the show and MOBO will continue to support her music and champion her career.”
The MOBOs (Music of Black Origin) are the UK version of the BET Awards and this year’s show will be held on September 30th and for the first time outside the UK, in the city of Glasgow.
And in other rumor news…
Keyshia Cole is rumored to be in Tyler Perry’s new film, “Why Did I Get Married Too.” Several websites have the singer listed as a cast member and playing the role of “Jada”.
R n’ B diva Keyshia cole performed the national anthem over the weekend at the fourth Cleveland Cavaliers/Atlanta Hawks playoff game. Though not televised live, word is Keyshia took the court of the Philips Arena and gave a very steady rendition of The Star Spangled Banner. This was most likely Keyshia’s last free performance before she hits the road for her first headlining tour. Aptly titled the “A Different Me Tour”, the spectacle kicks off this Wednesday at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati, Ohio and features Keri Hilson, The Dream and Bobby Valentino as opening acts.
Though her most recent album was released less than six months ago, R n’ B diva Keyshia Cole is already working on it’s follow up. The singer, who is slated to kick off her own headlining tour next month, is also said to be working on her biopic. Not yet 30, Keyshia feels she has lived a lifetime and is ready to share her story with her fans and the world. Keyshia’s manager released a statement earlier this week not only detailing the singer’s musical and biographical aspirations, but to also let the fans know that Keyshia would continue to support “A Differemt Me” by releasing two more singles from the album, including “Trust Me” which features Keyshia’s good friend and singer in her own right, Monica.
R n’ B diva Keyshia Cole is covering the latest and final edition of King Magazine. As many of you may have heard, the urban monthly announced last month that the May edition would indeed be their last. Attempting to go out with bang, the magazine is releasing a double issue, one with Keyshia on the cover and another with some woman named Tahiry. I know a lot of people jumped for joy when news of the magazine’s closing hit but I wasn’t one of them. Magazines like King and Smooth serve a purpose and that purpose was to showcase hot Black women (and as of late, non Black women). They shot beautiful pictorials of a lot of sistas, including Gabrielle Union, Stacey Dash and many others.
