Malinda Williams Gets “Nailed”

Actress Malinda Williams, who will always be “Bird” to me, is set to co-star alongside Tracey Morgan, Jessical Beil and Jake Gyllenhaal in the romantic comedy “Nailed”. The film of course revolves around Beil, who plays a waitress who gets a nail accidentally lodged in her head causing unpredictable behavior that leads her to Washington, DC, where sparks fly when she meets a clueless young senator who takes up her cause. Malinda will play Beil’s best friend or someone else none too important to the film and Morgan will play the dumb Negro who embarrasses us all. Nailed is presently in post production but has a tentative release date of summer 2009.

Malinda Williams Covers Upscale Magazine

Soul Food actress Malinda Williams is featured on the most recent cover of Upscale Magazine. In the mag Malinda once again speaks on her failed marriage to actor Mekhi Phifer- as well as finding love again with her new fiancé, 80’s rapper, Derrick “D-Nice” Jones. Malinda also drops a few facts about her upcoming wedding which is scheduled to take place this August in Atlanta, Georgia.

Spotlight: Malinda Williams

Malinda Williams Actress and fiance to rapper D-Nice, Malinda Williams, has slowly made a smooth transition from television, playing Bird Van Adams on the Showtime original series, Soul Food, to leading lady in several Black Hollywood movies. After appearing in 2006’s Idliewild, Malinda was seen in 2007’s Daddy’s Little Girl and will be seen again starring alongside Ice Cube in his upcoming movie, First Sunday, which is due to hit theaters January 11th. Malinda However isn’t just putting all her eggs in her acting basket. The sista has branched out into fashion creating her own lingerie line, Modern Goddess. Look for Malinda to debut the official website at the beginning of the new year and you should all check it out as her pieces will only be sold via the site.

Rumor: Malinda Williams Engaged

Actress Malinda Williams, best known for her role as Bird on the Showtime original drama, Soul Food, is rumored to finally be engaged to her longtime boyfriend and former hot 80’s rapper, D-Nice. Malinda and D have been dating since 2005 and D even features Malinda on his personal blog and photography site. No word yet from Malinda’s publicist as to whether the rumors are true or not, but as with any rumor, only time will tell.

Malinda Williams Keeping Busy

Since the season finale of the Showtime hit series ‘Soul Food’ two years ago, the actress has kept a relatively low-profile.

Now she’s in a whirlwind of activity — and employment– with a starring role on NBC’s hit summer drama series ‘Windfall’ and a role in OutKast’s long-awaited movie musical ‘Idlewild.’
