The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is back. Singer Mary J. Blige will officially be unveiling her new single Thick of It tonight at 9pm EST. Mary made the announcement via Twitter, where she also chose to unveil the track’s cover art.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul performed to a sold out crowd Saturday evening, where for the first time she performed Thick of It, a new single rumored to be featured on her upcoming 13th studio album.

Singer Mary J. Blige is continuing to load up her highlight reel, which come this fall will include an appearance on the highly anticipated third season of How to Get Away with Murder. According to published reports, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul will have a recurring role which is expected to last throughout the first half of the season. Details are still sketchy, but word around the water cooler is Mary will play a relative of another character, who seeks out Annalise for help.

While ABC’s morning chat-fest The View has had quite a bit of success over the years, it’s no secret that after nineteen seasons the show could use a bit of freshening up. ABC hopes to do that with changes they’ve implemented for their upcoming twentieth season, which includes several new co-hosts and a new theme song written by Diane Warren and performed by the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul herself: Mary J. Blige.

The Queen of Hip-Soul has booked her next acting gig. According to published reports, singer Mary J. Blige, fresh off the success of The Wiz Live, has been cast alongside Jason Mitchell, Carey Mulligan and Jason Clarke to star in Dee Rees’ upcoming war drama Mudbound.

So here it is you guys, your first look at singer Mary J. Blige as Evillene in the NBC revival of The Wiz Live.
The holiday event series will air December 3rd and feature Mary (The Wicked Witch of the West) alongside Queen Latifah (The Wizard), Uzo Aduba (Glinda the Good Witch), David Allen Grier (The Cowardly Lion), Ne-Yo (The Tin Man), Common (The Bouncer), Amber Riley (Addapearle) and newcomer Shanice Williams (Dorothy).
Singer Mary J. Blige has returned to the studio to record the follow-up to 2014’s The London Sessions.
Sam Roman, an English singer-songwriter who worked on the album, recently uploaded video to his You Tube page of the pair in the studio recording- and the impromptu duet of his single Overthinking that came out of the session.
According to Sam, he and Mary are musically compatible, which made their decision to work together again a no-brainer. “We have similar recording styles,” Roman told Vulture.com. “We approach the recording process similarly, and believe in letting things happen naturally. We don’t force it. We just let the music guide us.
Singer Mary J. Blige is hitting the road this fall and taking fellow R n’ B diva Tamar Braxton along for the ride.
Mary announced her upcoming MJBLive Tour via Twitter late last night. The 12-city extravaganza will kick off on October 30 in Augusta, Georgia and wrap up two weeks later in Mashantucket, Connecticut on November 15.
Tamar, who is listed as a “special guest,” will join Mary for four tour dates in total. Two in Florida, and another two in Georgia.
