In both capacities it is Rihanna’s job to conceive and showcase new products, including this new high-impact sports bra she’s wearing in the company’s latest ad.

The $45 two-tone bra has padded shoulders, reinforced straps and will reportedly keep the twins nice and cozy with a mixture of polyester (44%), nylon (44%) and lycra (15%).

Rihanna as Josephine Baker?

IS RIHANNA RIGHT TO PLAY THE ROLE OF JOSEPHINE BAKER

Another Josephine Baker story is the works and producers have set their sights on none other than Rihanna to reprise the role that first earned actress Lynn Whitfield an Emmy Award back in 1991.

Per Shadow & Act, a production company called Noosa Films has won the rights to Baker’s autobiography and hope to bring the singer/actress/activist’s story to the big screen.

W. Lance Reybolds, a producer on the film, reportedly wants Rihanna to take on the role and has publicly stated so. “Rihanna is one of the most talented performers of this millennium, and with her unique acting and performing abilities, I have no doubt she will bring Josephine back to life on the big screen.”

This isn’t the first time a new Josephine Baker film has been rumored to be in production. A few years ago both Beyonce and Alicia Keys were reportedly up for the role. Beyonce was also up for the lead in a supposed Lena Horne biopic. So many of these films never see the light day. Chances are this one won’t either.

The original ‘Josephine Baker Story’ aired on HBO and cost a fraction of what it would have cost to put it up on the big screen.

‘RiRi Woo’ Sells Out

RIRI WOO SALES OUT IN 3 HOURS

Rihanna’s first collaboration with MAC Cosmetics is officially a success.

According to a company spokesman, ‘RiRi Woo,’ a remixed version of MAC’s uber successful ‘Ruby Woo’ lipstick, went on sale at 12pm EST time and officially sold out in just over three hours. MAC wouldn’t reveal exactly how many lipsticks were sold, but WWD estimated the number to be about 50,000

As previously reported, MAC brought Rihanna in as a “creative partner” and will launch four distinct color collections with the singer titled ‘RiRi [Hearts] Mac.’

Fans not lucky enough to get their hands on ‘RiRi Woo’ when it launched online yesterday will get another shot when the singer performs at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn on Saturday and Sunday night. MAC plans to set up a pop-up shop where the lipstick and various other products from the first collection will be sold. Should you not have tickets to those two shows then you’ll have to wait until June when MAC says the color will go on sale again.

I have ‘Ruby Woo’ and I call it the happiest lipstick in the world. It is the perfect Black girl red and I recommend it to anyone and everyone I can.

FYI: I checked eBay today, and just as I predicted, people lucky enough to get their hands on ‘RiRi’ are attempting to sell the $15 lipstick at a massive mark-up.

Rihanna and MAC Team Up

RIHANNA TEAMS UP WITH MAC COSMETICS

What do you do once you have conquered the world of music? Well, if you are Rihanna, you move on to the world of fashion and cosmetics.

Just days after unveiling her new capsule collection for British retailer River Island, Rihanna and MAC announced a joint venture that will feature four distinct color collections, which will be sold at Rihanna’s concerts and MAC’s official website.

John Demsey, president of MAC’s parent company Estée Lauder, called the collection a true collaboration between Rihanna and MAC, saying: “Rihanna didn’t just slap her name on a generic product. This was not a front. This is a true and organic collaboration based on mutual respect and admiration.”

RIHANNA MAC COLLECTIONSThe four collections will be known as RiRi [Hearts] MAC and will all feature RiRi Woo, a lipstick based on Rihanna’s favorite shade of MAC lipstick, Ruby Woo.
The collection will make its debut when Rihanna kicks off her ‘Diamonds Tour’ on May 4th and 5th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. MAC is helping to sponsor the tour and will open a pop-up shop on the first night to showcase the line.

Rihanna’s collaboration with MAC is the first of its kind and unlike the company’s previous liaisons with celebrities, is long-term. MAC is calling Rihanna a “creative partner” rather than a collaborator and notes that the singer’s signature will be embossed on all the products, expected to total 31 in all.

Rihanna’s Rolling Stone Cover

Beyonce isn’t the only singer who has a magazine cover leaking prematurely.

Though it’s not officially due to hit newsstands until Friday, Rihanna’s Rolling Stone cover made an early appearance on Instagram today as well.

This is Rihanna’s second cover. The 23-year old pop diva made her first appearance back in April of 2011, click here for a trip down memory lane.

Update: Rihanna’s cover story has been posted in its entirety on Rolling Stone’s official website.

It appears the interview deals mostly with her relationship with fellow pop boy Chris Brown, who as we all assaulted Rihanna almost four years.

Rihanna doen’t mince words and is very open about where she and Brown stand today.

Rihanna on those who say she is making a mistake by returning to a man who once beat her: “I decided it was more important for me to be happy. I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

Rihanna on how her relationship with Brown has changed: “You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about shit. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”

Rihanna on Brown possibly being violent towards her again: “He doesn’t have the luxury of fucking up again. That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”

Preview Rihanna’s New Fashion Line

With Rihanna’s much hyped fashion line set to make its debut at London Fashion Week on February 16th, the singer is finally taking fans behind-the-scenes to see what they can expect.

A short 2 minute 21 second video has been released showing the singer meeting with designers and talking about her inspirations.

According to RiRi, her line is all about the youth.

“Designing clothes for young women, young sassy personalities, that’s what I wanted to do… and the high-end designers are inspired by these kids. It’s the kids who say what’s cool and the high-end designers go and design it. Why not go to the source when you want to be ahead of the trend, and have something inspirational?.”

Rihanna Wins Top Honors at VMA’s

Rihanna’s once controversial video for her hit single “We Found Love” took home top honors at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The Calvin Harris assisted track won Video of the Year, beating out MIA (Bad Girls), Katy Perry (Wide Awake), Gotye f/ Kimbra (Somebody I Used to Know) and finally herself, along with Drake (Take Care).

You would think taking top honors for an award only won by a handful of women would be the talk of the evening but you would be wrong.

You may even think the singer’s new pixie haircut or “Cockiness” performance with A$AP would be the talk of the evening, but again, you would be wrong.

Instead it a was a moment not shown on live TV but captured by MTV.com’s “All Access Live” cameras and broadcast all over the internet that became the talk of the evening.

After accepting her award for Video of the Year Rihanna exited the stage where she saw Chris Brown sitting and quickly gave him a hug and a kiss before patting him on the head and walking away.

Lord only knows why this would shock people considering the non-stop rumors of the two being in each other’s company numerous times since the lifting of the restraining order. Rihanna even admitted as much during her recent sit down interview with Oprah.

At any rate, all is forgiven on Rihanna’s part, and judging from Chris’ two wins tonight, the public has moved on as well.

Rihanna’s New Movie Role

After the overseas success of her first feature film “Battleship,” it appears Rihanna has officially caught the acting bug and is looking to beef up her big screen resume.

According to “Spiderman” actor James Franco, the 23-year old Bajan singer is in talks to co-star alongside him and Seth Rogen in the New Line Cinema comedy “The End of the World.”

Franco made the revelation in an interview in which he also revealed that Rihanna originally wanted him to co-star alongside her in the now infamous “We Found Love” video.

“She actually asked me to be in that video, the one with the relationship that gets crazy,” Franco told MTV. “I couldn’t do it. But, I guess, I hope that that means there’s mutual love between us.”

As for their potential screen time together in the upcoming film, Franco didn’t disclose much about their characters, but did say his time spent with the singer would be “any man’s dream.”

Rihanna Unveils New Video Still

Rihanna is set to release another video from her platinum selling “Talk that Talk” album. The 23-year old singer has chosen the Esther Dean penned “Where Have You Been” as the album’s next potential chart topper and has reportedly shot the video for the single already.

Rihanna tweeted the image to your left earlier this evening with the caption: “The countdown to ‘Where Have You Been’ is on..”

Contrary to previous reports, the album’s title track is not set to be released as a single and isn’t presently scheduled to get the video treatment now- or in the near future.

“Talk that Talk” has been certified platinum in the U.S. and has gone 4x platinum worldwide.

Rihanna Wigs Out

Never shy about revealing photos of herself, Rihanna has once again shared private images with fans via her social networking sites. However, unlike the ones she posted during her week long vacation in Hawaii, these new images are a bit less risque.

Donning a blond wig, thigh high boots and daisy dukes, Rihanna showed off the look she’ll be sporting for the upcoming April edition of Elle magazine.

According to Rihanna, it is her first cover shoot of 2012.

And in another bit of RiRi news, the singer has been voted the sexiest woman on Twitter by Complex magazine. No doubt images like this helped them make up their minds.

Rihanna Spreads Her Wings

Pop diva Rihanna is set to add the title of television producer to her ever expanding repertoire of accomplishments.

According to a recent press release, the 24-year old singer will make her TV debut producing and appearing in a new fashion project for U.K. network Sky Living HD.

Rihanna will reportedly be searching Britain for the country’s next great fashion designer; and she will be joined by the show’s host, Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts.

As executive producer, Rihanna’s duties will mostly be behind the scenes, helping to shape the show’s landscape, and occasionally making surprise on air appearances.

The show’s contestants will be challenged with creating outfits for various celebrities, with the winner eventually going on to create the outfit Rihanna will wear when she performs at the Wireless Festival in London in July.

The ten week competition starts in the spring and is tentatively set to air in the early part of the summer.

Rihanna’s New Clothing Line

According to Elle U.K., Rihanna’s relationship with design house Emporio Armani is about to get even more exclusive than it already is. The 23-year old Baja beauty, already the face of Armani underwear and jeans, will reportedly get her own capsule line under the brand, consisting of lingerie, jeans, t-shirts and biker jackets.

Images posted online do not reveal any original designs, but rather items that appear to be created using Rihanna’s image and trademark “R” logo.

Still, if you want to get your hands on a few of the pieces, they are set to hit a store near you in early December… just in time for the holiday buying season.


And in other RiRi news, the singer’s latest album, ‘Talk That Talk,’ is #1 on the iTunes album chart and is shaping up to be the singer’s first release to land the top spot in the U.S.

The album has gotten amazing reviews and may very well sell north of 250,000 in its first week- amazing numbers by Rihanna’s standards.

Good for her. ‘TTT’ is a solid album packed back to front with radio friendly pop hits. She’s clearly coming for that Beatles record.

According to Billboard Magazine, Rihanna has scored her 11th #1 single on the Hot 100 charts, officially passing singers Janet Jackson and Stevie Wonder, who each have 10.

With this latest accomplishment, Rihanna surpasses two of the greatest artists in musical history and ties another, singer Whitney Houston, who also has 11.

Should Rihanna’s grip on the Hot 100 continue unabated, and we all know it will, she will soon tie or even pass Madonna, who has 12 chart toppers and possibly Michael Jackson, who has 13.

After that, she’ll have to tally 7 more number ones to reach singer Mariah Carey, who has 18 or 9 more to reach The Beatles who hold the record with 20.

So, can she do it? Hell no! White folks ain’t never gonna let anyone match the record set by The Beatles. You see how when Mariah got too close her career magically took a downward turn.

Just sayin’.

Rihanna Covers British Vogue

Rihanna has landed another major magazine cover.

The 23-year old pop diva will be gracing the pages of British Vogue for the first time in her career.

Donning a platinum blonde wig, Rihanna appears to be channeling 1950’s sex symbol Marilyn Monroe and her iconic style.

This issue will reportedly hit newsstands on October 10th, but with the internet the way it is, we have the pics for you now.

Rihanna Shoots New Video

Rihanna traveled all the way to Belfast, Ireland over the weekend to shoot the video for ‘We Found Love,’ the lead-off single from her upcoming sixth solo album.

The video will be directed by Melina, the same visionary who helmed previous videos for the singer, including ‘Rockstar 101,’ ‘S & M,’ and ‘Hard.’

Photos from the set showcase Rihanna frolicking around a prairie, sporting a variety out outfits, including a red, white and blue bikini top, jeans and most surprisingly, a see-thru knit top that left little to the imagination.

Look for the video to be released in Mid October, via VEVO.

Wondering how ‘We Found Love’ is doing on the charts so far? Well over the weekend it hit #1 on iTunes, a sure sign it will debut inside the top 10 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.
