Charlie’s Angels Revamped

If you were a fan of the 1970’s hit television series Charlie’s Angels, then this post should make you pretty happy. A revamped version of the show starring Annie Ilonzeh, Minka Kelly and Rachel Taylor was picked up by ABC and is scheduled to start airing this fall in the highly coveted and competitive 8pm time slot.

An extended promo trailer was released earlier this week and from the looks of things, this is not your mother’s big sister’s “Charlie’s Angels.”

Check out the clip below and let us know what you think. Are you feeling the revamped naughty version of the angels.

  1. Shyt looks CORNY! But I’m curious so I’ll tune in for the 1st eppy. I just hope they didn’t throw in Annie Ilonzeh as the token black. These shows have a tendency to relegate black actresses to bbf roles, and focus all the stories on the white actresses.

  2. i don’t think i’m the only one who feels as if it’s pretty sad and heavily annoying that they keep remaking “revamping” older television shows. i mean where’s the originality? when are the good new shows gonna be out on tv. makes me think i should just sell mine. ain’t nothing good one 99.99% of the time anyway. ugh.

  3. I must say I agree vehemently with SINCERELY JOUET & PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN. Some things are better off left alone. Revamped versions of older/iconic shows is a bad idea. Fortunately this show was part of my childhood growing up…I enjoyed it. It takes me back to the time of yesteryear that I long for. *feeling “NOSTALGIC”* These great iconic shows during my generation can`t be duplicated.

You should just leave well enough alone. The great iconic shows, from my youth, that I love dearly are a once in a lifetime event. “Charlie`s Angels”, “Starsky & Hutch”, “Dynasty”, “Dallas”. “KnotsLanding”, “Baretta”, “The Mod Squad”, etc, will forever be dear to me and simply can`t be duplicated. I cherish the memories of being in front of the set and watching these iconic shows every week. But, yeah, some things are better off left alone. It`s like someone doing a remake of one of Mike`s classics such as “Rock With You”, “Human Nature”, “Don`t Stop Til’ You Get Enough”, etc. Some things are just “SACRED”.

Michael Jackson & The “GOLDEN” 80s 4ever!! (RIP) “MASTER SHOWMAN”.

Peace, in the spirit of my “HERO”, Malcolm X (RIP)

  4. Some things are better off left alone. “Charlie`s Angels” is an “Iconic” show from my childhood that I loved dearly. As well as “Starsky & Hutch”, “Dynasty”, “Dallas”, “KnotsLanding”, “Baretta”,”The Mod Squad”, etc. I cherish the memories of growing up being in front of the set and watching these shows every week. These are iconic shows that simply can`t be revamped/remade/duplicated or any other adjective that you might want to throw in.

It`s like someone doing a remake of one of Mike`s classics, such as “Rock With You”, “Human Nature”, “Don`t Stop Til’ You Get Enough”, “Billie Jean”, etc. It simply won`t work. Some things are sacred and shouldn`t be touched.

  5. I’ve been watching Annie Ilonzeh on General Hospital for the past few months now. She is a pretty new actress so she’s not the best, but she’s definitely improved and pushing herself to be better. She has made history as the first black Angel, and the girl has only been acting for 4 years. And she’s gorgeous. And she’s Nigerian (like me!) That’s pretty awesome.

    I’m also a fan of Rachael’s and Minka’s so I’ll tune in.

Charlie’s Angels wasn’t some epic TV show that is untouchable. It wasn’t that deep. The story stayed the same, but the roles are basically revolving doors for actresses. I get that remakes are old and tired, and it is frustrating to see them redo this again, but this one looks fun. I’ll definitely tune in to support the girls.

  6. Charlie’s Angels did not need a new version and making them all criminals is not an improvement on the original in my opinion. This is another sad example of the absence of creativity in Hollywood where original ideas seem to have less chances than an ice cube in hell. When are we going to get a real show depicting the lives of people of colour on network television?
