Alicia Keys may have taken a bit of a fall last week, but her single sure hasn’t. The singer’s latest chart topper “Unthinkable” remains the top urban tune in the country, extending its reign atop the R&B/Hip Hop charts to eight weeks. Keys managed to hold off such stiff completion as Usher’s “There Goes My Baby” and Drake’s “Find Your Love,” which came in at number two and three respectively.
Alicia also managed to hold off Ciara’s “Ride,” which came in at #5 behind Usher’s “OMG,” which came in at #4.
And speaking of Ciara, it has been a long time coming, but the singer has finally been validated with the sudden success of “Ride.” Despite having her video banned by BET and having radio basically turn their back on her, “Ride” has managed to overcome all obstacles and actually enter the top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This is a new high for the single, which weeks ago starting falling down the charts after topping out at #76.
Ciara recently tweeted her thanks to her fans, saying: “Your support inspires me to work harder.”
