Ciara’s New Movie “Mama I Want To Sing”

As previously reported, Ciara is due to star alongside Hill Harper and ­Lynn Whitfield in the big screen adaptation of the stage play “Mama Want To Sing“. We posted the trailer for this film a few months back and now BlackFilm.com has provided us with the first images from the set.

Above we have Ciara pictured with Lynn Whitfield, who plays her mother in the film.

Below we have Ciara pictured with Hill Harper who is looking quite dapper. I had no idea he was in the film until I saw this shot. He is a great actor and much like Lynn, adds credibility to this film.

    i still do not think she is right for this roll but I will reserve bashing her until I at least see a clip of her acting in this movie.

    Hill Harper is a bad *** actor. I love him. He should get more credit than he does because he is great in everything I see him in. He and Ciara look nice together. Does he play her love interest in the film?

    Ciara will be great in this role, she study acting lesson for this part. Hill and Ciara been friends for a minute, so the chemistry should be great. This film will make THE GOODIES QUEEN a triple threat in the industry, Thanks for posting new Ciara promo.

    i also love hill and try to watch him on csi-ny. on another note i am sick on the singer/actor thing. because a lot of them are horrible at the acting bit. i wish ciara well, but will probably wait for the dvd or blue ray.

    I love Hill Harper!!! He is a fine educated brotha mmmhmmm. I hope Ciara improves from the last film she did, because this looks like a good film.

    Ciara cannot sing but if a sister can be put in the movie because her name will fill seats than so can ciara

    @iris: I too am tired of the singer/acting bit. These Hip-Hop artists need to study the arts before trying their hand in acting. Otherwise they make a mockery of the profession…

    @DH: “smart and educated…….a deadly combination :”) That statement took my mind to Min. Louis Farrakhan. For he has those qualities and the powers that be can`t handle him. He didn`t graduate from one of their fine universities, yet he can confound the best of their scholars.. Just thought I`d throw that in…

    Lynn Whitfield is awesome. She needs better roles! I won’t go see it; ‘might’ rent it. Overall, not really interested. :sad:

    MOST ACTORS WHO MAKE IT BIG HAVE NOT BEEN TO ACTING SCHOOL ONCE. SO I SAY GIVE THE SINGERS A CHANCE, BUT CIARA CANT SING HOW SHE IS GONNA DO MOVIES ABOUT AN AMAZING SINGING IF IS SHE CANT SING….LOL

    I have nothing against Ciara, but this should have gone to someone with a more powerful voice because the people who have seen the play will be disappointed.

    Got Damn the hatin has already started!!! Ciaras name will fill seats because she IS A SINGER playin a role OF A SINGER!!! Ciara has PLENTY of talent!!! Dont get mad cuz the ppl who barley have HALF of Ciaras talent dont get recognized in Ciaras spotlight!!! Ciara is a great singer and I know for a fact that everybody AND THEIR MAMA is gonna see the movie!!! Yes even you sorry *** haters!!! And everybody is gonna love it and the haters will PRETEND to hate it!!!! Ciara is on top of her game!!! She got a great new album coming in Aug. called “Fantasy Ride” and a highly anticipated movie along with it!!! Just admit Ciara is the new Queen!!!
