The CW Network announced yesterday that the Will and Jada Pinkett Smith produced comedy, All Of Us would not be coming back for a third season. All Of Us was one of four Black shows that carried the network on Sunday nights and the only one that was canceled. Returning Black comedies include Everybody Hates Chris, The Game and Girlfriends. Yes I know many of us thought the show was finished for sure but the CW obviously knows a good thing when they see it and decided to bring the show back for another season. Coming into it’s eight season Girlfriends will tie The Cosby Show for the second longest running Black show in television history. No need to wonder who is number one- it’s The Jeffersons which ran from 1975-1985.
I truly love this blog. So much of what I read here isn’t posted anywhere else. Thanks for keeping us updated on Girlfriends and that pic of the All Of Us cast is here. You guys stay having the best photos. I will miss the show even though I just started watching the reruns on TV One. I had a feeling it was going to be cancelled without the Tia character. They should have found someone to replace Elise Neal.The show was funny and Lisa Raye had the baddest wardrobe. I wonder if she gets to keep those clothes :cool:
I knew it was doomed to when Tia left. A replacement would have been better than the idea they came up with to have them living together again. Elise was only there for one season she definitely could have been replaced and she was the weakest link in the entire show to me anyhow. Elise has never been a great actress and neither was Lisa but Lisa was made for her role and played it well. She shined everytime she came on the screen. I will miss the show though cause it was at least made for adults. :(
Huh…why did this show get canceled? I think it’s rather foolish to cancel ONE show from the Monday night line-up that had a semi-established audience. Makes no sense–what are they going to replace it with?
:iagree: They should have kept Tia – this show became unbelievable when she left. It was just not as good as the first season. They should have at least let Robert have a girlfriend or Niecee a steady man – when Tia left it was doomed…Good luck to the Will & Jada and the rest of the cast though.

I stopped watching after Tia left too…and then I stopped watching because I cancelled my cable. (I’ll rent it on DVD…that’s the way to go folks!) :lol:
Anyhoo, hate to hear it’s gone, surprised “The Game” stayed and still MAD :mad: that “Half & Half” was cancelled in the first place! :mad:

yeah i agree the show went downhill after tia left. i really couldn’t stand lisa raye and duane always seem liked he was trying too hard to be funny, it wasn’t natural. i only watched the show for dirk, he was always funny.
The show was still funny. I think a lot of people were at first turned off by the story line without Tia but things got better as the dust settled.I hate that the show had no send off cause I believe eventually they would have gotten back together.
I will miss All Of Us…
But I am glad Girlfriends will be around for another season, and I”m glad The Game will be back! I wanna see more Derwin/Melanie/Drew drama!!!!
i actually liked the show better with Tia off of it but I don’t think they even knew they were cancelled because the last episode was to be continued. That is dirty, so I guess the game is next huh? well i won’t watch that channel for nothing else because they have nothing else. except for america’s next top model but that has even been bull. Tyra needs something new for that show because now I can even pick the winners. Put men in the house or soemthing.
Another good black show gone. CW messed things up let’s just hope Everybody hates Chris will stay on as long as they can.

I congratulate the producers and cast of “Girlfriends for being picked up for a eight season. I think its one of the shows on television and it is well written. There is one correction and that is that the TV sitcom “Family Matters” is second all time for black sitcoms it was on for nine seasons. In the meantime, I hope that Paramount Pictures will release all eight seasons of “Girlfriends” on DVD. There is a lack of availability for black TV shows on DVD. I hope that “Girlfriends” don’t fall in that same category that black television DVD’s don’t sell. They are not marketed toward the people who buy them.
All of us did start to get a little unrealistic, with the ex wife living there, and all of a sudden Dirk finds out he has a daughter….?? I knew it was a wrap after that!!! I like will and Jada but that was really bad, just adding another child like that.
I am not happy about “All of us” leaving the network. Who made that sudden decision? I thought it was quite interesting and anticipated the divorce couple amending their relationship. Come on CW do you really have other shows besides two nights that is worth cutting “All of us” sitcom.
Towards the end of the show, it started to represent and promote Baby Momma Drama. I had no idea what would happen next besides, Lisa Raye and Robert being in each others business,once again.
In closing, I am glad my favorite show, Girlfriends will be staying on.
One more thing… Bring back Eve… That was a funny show..
