The Dreamgirls juggernaut is in full swing as Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce Knowles, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx and Director Bill Condon met with the press this week to discuss their upcoming movie.As you all know, Dreamgirls is due to hit the big screen Christmas Day and if early reviews are to be believed, the movie will be a smash and Jennifer Hudson may walk away with an Academy Award.I personally do not think young Jennifer will win but I do think Beyonce has a good chance of being nominated for her song “Listen” and an even better chance of winning.But Oscar talk is really premature at this moment because the movie isn’t even out and let’s face it, The Academy has never been all that kind to so called “Black Movies”. I am so proud of Jennifer her voice is amazing. I wish they wouldn’t put Beyonce all over the place from what I hear she’s hating on Jennifer while they were on Oprah and tried to do some fake performance acting like Diana Ross or something. But Jennifer, I pray, will come out on top she has the skills, naturally! Unlike Beyonce!

Eddie Murphy’s character is getting more play than Jennifer and Annika’s character.I don’t know if it is like that in the movie, but it seems that was publicity wise.Eddie got a special poster along with Beyonce and Jamie while Jennifer and Annika got squat.I want to see this movie and support my folks but a part of me hates the way this is being played out.Dreamgirls was not about the Beyonce and Jamie character.I’m feeling a little bad especially for Jennifer right now and damn folks is acting like Annika don’t even exist.:mad:
People need to realize that Beyonce, Eddie and Jamie were cast for name value.The Effie role, at least in the Broadway play, was always the star of the show.The whole play revolved around her and should in the movie as well if it kept it as the original was.I don’t know if that is the case though because all I see is Beyonce and Eddie Murphy with varying glimpses of Jamie.Jennifer is usually well hidden and I think it may be because they don’t think she can bring in a mass audience like the pretty, thin, light complected Beyonce can.It may be good marketing and yet when you see the movie you will realize that it really is the Effie character that rules.
True, I think Beyonce, Eddie & Jamies’ names are used to draw people. But I could use a break from seeing beyonce. She is all over the place and she did seem uncomfortable with all of the Love Jennifer received (on Oprah). But hey, you gotta pass the Torch sometimes. I am happy for Jennifer though:dance2:
I can honestly say that I have always enjoyed Beyonce’s music. You know/I watched “Dreamgirls” cast on “Opray”.
Ms. Beyonce “body language” showed a whole lot of jealousy when Ms. Jennifer received some well deserved recognition. Hey Beyonce is only human. Remember Beyonce…The way you treat others always comes back to you…Good or Bad.
