Video: “Bittersweet” By Fantasia

J Records recording artists Fantasia Barrino is back with “Bittersweet,” the first single off of her upcoming “Back To Me” album. The singer debuted the video for her new single earlier this week and following the female r and b trend as of late, has a hunky pro-athlete (Devin Thomas) as her love interest. The single is already doing well on Billboard’s Hip-Hop/R&B charts and will no doubt rise higher with the release of the video. Fantasia is expected to perform the single on The Tonight Show July 9th and her album will be available nationwide on August 10th.

  1. wow…her song reminds me of Everything to me with the use of percussion, and her voice harkens back to the raspiness of brandy (though in my opinion brandy has a prettier voice even though fantasia may have a stronger one). The single is pretty good! Her voice has definitely changed since her surgery…i preferred it before. But the way it sounds somewhat worn down lends it maturity. All in all..the single is a solid B for me, and could usher in her comeback to R&B prominence but it does not have any crossover potential.

  2. Wow, I wasn’t even gonna listen to this song, but I’m glad I did. It honestly made me cry……just reminded me a lot of what I’m going through in my personal life I guess. Trying to decide whether or not to stay or go, and everytime I think about my guy and all the good/bad times we’ve been through and….it’s bittersweet. It’s bittersweet.

  3. I really like this song because the words are so heartfelt but I don’t know if it was a great fit for Fantasia’s voice. Yet, I’m anticipating her new album and will gladly support another soul singer. I’m glad she decided not to present a pop tinged song as her lead single.

Plus, she looks radiantly beautiful in this video. I’m loving ‘Tasia’s style lately. Renaissance chic….

  4. sepiastar,

that is SO not a renaissance look. That’s the 40s with the finger waves and torch singers..and also, i’m glad it isn’t pop-tinged, like Monica, she should stay firmly in R&B.

  5. I can really relate to this song! Fantasia spoke the truth. 🙂 I can’t wait to hear more music from the upcoming album. She definitely has talent and I wish her much success!

  6. :hifive:
So glad Tashia is back with new music. She has a unbeliveable voice that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

  7. Tashia this is a great song….I’m so glad u took the r & b route…u don’t need pop to be a star! its natural talent given from God! :iagree:
