What Are We Gonna Do When I Get There?
Wamuiru said:
Ladies, don’t you just hate this question when a guy gets ready to come over? I haven’t been asked this in a few years though because I only deal with mature guys now, but when they did ask the question, I’d tell them don’t even bother to come over. To me, this means that you’re looking for something other than watching a movie or just eating dinner.

NOT A DAMN THING!!!!! KEEP IT MOVING!!!

OMG this topic brings back memories. I haven’t had a man say that to me in years either but in my early twenties I swear I heard that line from just about every man I dated. On the real though, if a man says that to you he sees you as just a booty call. He basically saying if he ain’t gettin’ none he ain’t coming over. *LOSER*

Wow, I remember going out with my cousin years ago. I tagged along because she really liked this guy so I hung out with his friend (I didn’t like him). We got in the car and then we got on the highway….then we arrived at this hotel. I said to the guy “what are we HERE for” he said “Well we are not coming here to look at each other”. My cousin gave me this “what is your problem look” I didn’t even know she was having sex!!! I certainly wasn’t. The guy new my dad very well and I said I will sit in this car all night or call a cab home I don’t care how much it costs!!! Long story short, they were all pissed at me and we went home! HOW DARE HE!!!!

that question is hilarious. it could not be more obvious what they mean when they say this. We gonna play monopoly and yatzee that’s what! lol

Mrs. Jones. You funny.
There can only be one thing on a guys mind when that question pops up. It’s sort of like a “What’s in it for me?” question. Unless you plan on giving said dude some poon I wouldn’t recommend you having him over. It’s not worth you being uncomfortable in your own home. I’ve been there and it’s an awful feeling trying to detract a guys mind from sex. He might think you’re playing hard to get and to avoid mixed messages just go to the park.

This is that age old question where a guy is trying to ask for some sex on the sly. Honey I used to hate this question, because sometimes I just wouldnt even go over the fools house!

Wow. This is a silly forum. Do we ever speak about real issues on this blog.
Liyah said,
^^ Bria you obviously are new to this blog. Brownsista touches on many issues :-)

@ Liyah: That was so wrong of them to put you in that position. Good for you for sticking up for yourself!
Of course this question is nothing but a booty call in disguise. He is only looking for one thing if he comes over and it’s not to watch a movie or atleast the kind of movie where the people have clothes on.

Thanks Torya. And by the way thank you for the compliment about my gravatar. I just saw it not too long ago. I am a big fan of Aaliyah.

Of coarse thats what it means. Women are famous for wanting guys that don’t really want to be with them…i have a couple of female friends now that I was interested back in the day…they liked one of my friends who only wanted to smash…and then after they got tired of them…then they were interested in me…but no matter how much I liked them, I refused to be seconds…so we remained friends.
Liyah…you should have been mad at your cousine not the guys…your cousine set you up…hello!!!

@Liyah: I am not new too this blog. That is why I asked the question. What serious issues do we discuss. This is brownsista and we don’t discuss any real issues about brown sista. A guy asking what are we gonna do when I get there is just silly. How old is this person who created this question. Because in the world of adults this does not happen. I think it would be something you know already. That may be something some high schooler will ask you. It’s always about fashion or some other foolishness on this blog. I thought when I heard brown sista that it was finally a blog for women of color, but, no just silliness.

Yes this site is call BrownSista but it’s about female black celebrities
Dana said,
I have been here since the beginning (I was a poster on Stephanie’s other blog) and I love what this site offers. It has always been a mixed of celeb news and Stephanie’s own opinions about a myriad of issue dealing with Black woman and the fashion section was just added and I am glad it was. There haven’t been as many serious topics lately but damn, this is an entertainment blog. What seriousness do you get on any other celeb blog ? Like Amber said the blog is about Black Female Celebrities and I remember the other mantra was something to the affect of “Celebrating the beauty, style and accomplishments of African American women in Hollywood”.
You can’t please everybody I guess.
Majesa said,
I’ve never been asked that, but I don’t look forward to hearing it. I do look forward to coming up with a good response and watching or hearing the reaction.
I love this blog. There’s a serious issue every now and then, and that’s how often I want to see them…every now and then. This is an entertainment blog as said, not the Black in America forum.

I use to like being asked that stupid question so I could lie my butt off and have the guy come over to be DIS-AP-POINT-ED!! *smh* dumbazzes!
Maglet said,
Never been asked that question and I’m glad. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Not that I need to add to the consensus :) but I enjoy this forum. I come here to enjoy the comments and read about different celebs. It’s cool not having to be completely serious about Brown Sista issues all the time. Because, ya know… the tough life issues that women of color–even women of little to no color (LOL)–face are serious. There ARE blogs out there that are all about the “issues” all the time. This one, I have found, is not one of them and for that, I’m glad!
So, yeah… LOL

Bria,
Believe it or not there are still grown men asking this question. You’re lucky not to have run into one of these jokers!

To add my two cents to the question men aren’t the only ones asking nowadays the women are in on the act too - we all have needs Haha! :)

even though i’m probably the baby of the site…….i’ve heard people ask that question…….sometimes even a girl. (my big cuzzo was a player player) and even though i’d be 3 years old i’d know what them fast chicks meant…..sad part is sometimes they’d get “it”.
it’s hella dumb when someone asks that question. on one hand it’s like “dude what do you think we’re gonna do?”………and if they ask you again it’s like “what do you take me for, seriously?”.
great for me i haven’t gotten to that part of the dating game yet. lol.
@ liyah
that was horrible that your cousin tried you like that. i mean seriously what did she expect from you. you shoulda been in her face….all up in her ear……and the guy too, aszhole. good for you that you took a stand and let it be known that you are better than that. yay you! lol.

Funny this question should come up, a guy ask me this question the other day and this guy was 26…( Yes a grown man, well grown enough to know not to ask this question), he came to pick me up from a club I was at, when I got in the car he asked so when I drop you home what we gonna do????
To be honest it didn’t dawn on me what he meant( I was a little intoxicated)…. well when I did clock on to what he meant, I just thought, oh hell no, I’m going to my bed and you ain’t coming with me…
But I mean as long as men want a lil sumting, sumting they will ask that question, further more as long as men are on this earth they will ask that question….
ut hey men are funny creatures if they didn’t come out with these funny little questions we wouldn’t have nothing to laugh and write about on these blogs…..
Dana said,
LOL. I knew this topic wasn’t dumb. Grown *** men the main ones who be asking this stupid damnquestion. I never had a guy in highschool ask me this. It wasn’t until I became grown that this question started being asked of me.

Yeah I agree that comment right there will wrap up a whole conversation for me. I also think female that thinks this is cute need some self esteem. Cause these men are still using this line cause they must be getting away with it. It has became universal.
Smooth Thug said,
Ms. “Maglet”, thank you your comments, they were very well said.
I spend the majority of my online time at sites arguing with rednecks and crackers who say that they will never vote for Barak Obama. Others say that all Latinos, me included, need to go back where we all came from. You know, silliness and nonsense like that. That is the very reason I like coming to Brownsista.com. Here I find an environment that is new and relaxed; coming here is like a breath of fresh air to me. Ms. “Stephanie”, you’ve got a good thing going here. You just keep on keepin’ on and don’t stop.
As for our present topic, I say this: the dignity of a lady is a very valuable and precious thing. If any of you ladies ever gets asked ” What are we gonna do when I get there?” , or any other idiotic question, for that matter, kick his jive-time, jack-leg, trying-to-be a$$ all the way to the curb on the other side of the street!
Lola said,
If you don’t like what the site has to offer…keep it moving and quit complaining! Simple.
Well well said,
I actually really prefer these questions to the celebrity gossip. I am always disappointed when a week passes without any of these posts. I love how the chosen topics are light enough to get sisters to bond, reminisce or share valuable information that the younger sisters can learn from and other ladies can see that they are not the only one who………….(insert crazy behaviour/experience here).
