Actress Gabrielle Union is featured on the cover on the March edition of Vegas Magazine. Inside the mag Gabrielle talks about her wild partying days, as well as what led to her divorce from Jacksonville Jaguars running back Chris Howard, and why she believes she is often mistaken for Ashanti, Brandy, and even Beyonce.

But Oh well. I like Gabrielle Union. She’s seems like a cool person to have lunch with (That’s how I define how down to earth a person is…yeah). I want to know who thought she was Ashanti, Brandy, Beyonce, or anyone else…None of those people even look alike, much less like her. Nice photos as well, she always looks nice to me.

She’s so full of sh** in regard to her marriage, just be honest and say you chose your career and being single over being married…If Chris can be her best friend now that they’re divorced and they supposedly talk to each other every day then why couldn’t she make her marriage work if her being busy was the only reason why they broke up…Isn’t part of being married about being best friends?…I think her divorce was more about her career taking off and her partying, because she don’t miss a single party or event.

@ stef, you have to remember right before her marriage she was rape and i think she might have been looking for security and not necessarily the guy she married. so i think the divorce was probably more of her personal growth. not any one’s fault.

The girl literally SAID that she put her career first, she’s been honest about it so how is she full if ish?? And she started partying much AFTER the marriage, when she was single again, nothing wrong with that.

First of all that’s my opinion, and second of all I said Gabby is full of sh** because she chose a career over her marriage vowels to the man she claimes she love…She say’s she’s to busy for a marriage but yet she finds time to talk to Chris every day, maintain a best friendship with him and stay at every red carpet event or party. So why could’t she put that time and energy into making her marriage work…It’s not that the marriage couldn’t work she just caught up in the glamor of Hollywood and ditched her husband for the spotlight.
It’s kind of like what Brandy did in her fake marriage, she used that guy as a security blanket while she was pregnant to protect her image…But once the child was born and she realized her reputation was safe, all of sudden she wasn’t intrerested in being married anymore.

I’m not saying you can’t have an opinion, but you clearly said in your first post tha she should have been honest and said she chose her career over her marriage, when that’s EXACTLY what Gabrielle said. Now I don’t know the woman’s life to be so radical about what she should or shouldn’t have done. If her ex husband is cool with being her friend, then I love it too. If anything their relationship is more honest now than it used to be, but that’s just my opinion. As for Brandy, the fact that she dissed her “husband” ruined their “deal” because that wasn’t part of the contract which is why he put their business on front street. But the man accepted to do the job in exchange for money. He wasn’t forced to help secure her image. So he was no victim.

But the point is d-mn, she chose her career and LIFESTYLE [being single] over being married and she’s fronting as if she was just working hard! She knew she was an actress and he was an athlete when they got married. So things get better (more work) and what happens to “for BETTER or for worse?”
Think about it: if you loved someone enough to marry them, I mean you LOVE this person, would you leave him at the first sign of overtime? C’mon…
If the man is still her close friend obviously he supports and loves her. She didn’t say HE complained about her work. She made a choice to abandon her vows for a lifestyle.

@ ILBW, my main point was basically that Stef talked about her not being “honest” about choosing her career over her man when in FACT Gabrielle was honest about it in her interview with Vegas.
And how do you know for a fact that he didn’t complain about it? Maybe she didn’t say it because some people just don’t diss their friends (or even enemies for some), maybe they said what needed to be said about that and those details are none of our business. I’m not applauding her choice but I wouldn’t go so far as to tell her what she should have done when I don’t know every single detail of their relationship.
I know people in my entourage who had difficulties in their marriage partly due to personal ambitions, and even if they failed their marriage they had a successful divorce aka stayed in good terms. If her ex felt it was that UNFAIR he wouldn’t have taken the break up well, and let’s suppose that indeed she’s 100% to blame, how many men do you know take a divorce well aka remain cool with an ex-wife? Even when they’re to blame (cheating or else) they don’t take it well, let alone if they’re not. If the way she treated him was so unfair his pride would have been hurt. If they’re in good terms after “what she did to him”, she must not be a bad person and there must be more to the story. So I respectfully disagree.

She nicely stated that she chose her career over her marriage…In an interview she did about a year ago the guy interviewing her asked her the same question “If you and Chris are friends now and you reconize what led to your break up, why don’t you get back together?” and She stated something like “Oh it’s too late the marriage is over.” Basically saying “I want to be single.”..I guarantee if she had a mediocour career or a 9-5 job she would have faught tooth and nail to hold on to that man.
I’m not blaming Gabrielle for the break up, she has a right to happy…I just felt like she could have made her marriage work if she wanted to, you can be married and have a career people do it all the time, with much more busy careers than hers…I wouldn’t give up a long term relationship with the man I love for my career, at least not without giving it a damn good fight first.
